Article Synopsis
  • The study investigates the consistency of glottic abduction measurements in healthy patients across multiple visits and explores anatomical factors affecting these measurements.
  • It reviewed 59 patients and conducted cadaveric exams, finding that the maximum glottic abduction angle (MGAA) varied significantly between visits, with 20% of patients showing a change of at least 25%.
  • Potential reasons for this variability include differences in examination angles, patient positioning, as well as measurement inconsistencies among different raters.

Article Synopsis
  • This study evaluates the long-term effects of cough suppression therapy (CST) on patients with chronic refractory cough (CRC) by analyzing data from 24 individuals over at least 3 months post-treatment.
  • Results indicate that the majority of patients showed a significant reduction in cough severity after CST, with no notable changes in severity measures over the long term.
  • The findings suggest that CST is an effective treatment for CRC as patients maintained improvements, regardless of the presence of other health conditions (comorbidities).
