[Colon Paracoccidioidomycosis in a hospital from Lima - Peru: report of 4 cases].

Paracoccidioidomycosis is the most prevalent mycosis in South America. Mucocutaneous and lymph node involvement is the most frequent affectation of this disease in our country, with the intestinal commitment rarely reported. We report 4 cases of colonic manifestation with abdominal pain, chronic diarrhea, and weight loss.

A 40 year-old female patient was admitted to the hospital with ascites and abdominal pain developed in the last five days. The ascitic fluid was an exudate with negative results for common diseases. Antinuclear antibodies and anti-DNA were positive and a low activity of serum complement was found.
