Purpose: To investigate the test-retest reliability and construct validity of the Brief Pain Inventory-Short Form (BPI-SF) in individuals with rotator cuff-related shoulder pain (RCRSP).

Methods: Sixty-one participants with RCRSP completed the BPI-SF twice with an interval of two to seven days and Shoulder Pain and Disability Index (SPADI) at the initial visit. The BPI-SF pain severity subscale, pain interference subscale, and stand-alone pain severity items were analysed using intraclass correlation coefficients (ICCs) and minimal detectable change at the 95% confidence interval (MDC).

Background: Inadequate reporting of fidelity to interventions in trials limits the transparency and interpretation of trial findings. Despite this, most trials of non-drug, non-surgical interventions lack comprehensive reporting of fidelity. If fidelity is poorly reported, it is unclear which intervention components were tested or implemented within the trial, which also hinders research reproducibility.

Although recent studies in nonhuman primates have provided evidence that transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) activates cells within the reticular formation, it remains unclear whether descending brain stem projections contribute to the generation of TMS-induced motor evoked potentials (MEPs) in skeletal muscles. We compared MEPs in muscles with extensive direct corticomotoneuronal input (first dorsal interosseous) versus a prominent role in postural control (gastrocnemius) to determine whether the amplitudes of early and late MEPs were differentially modulated by cortical suppression. This study aimed to identify the differences presented in the Raman spectrum of blood serum from normal subjects compared to leukemic and non-leukemic subjects and the differences between the leukemics and non-leukemics, correlating the spectral differences with the biomolecules.
