Objective: To investigate the long-term impact of half-fluence photodynamic therapy (PDT) on chorioretinal architecture in chronic central serous chorioretinopathy (cCSCR) through novel choroidal vascularity index (CVI) versus previously established subfoveal choroidal thickness (SFCT).

Methods: This post-hoc analysis included prospectively collected swept-source optical coherence tomography (SS-OCT) images of a total of 29 cCSCR and fellow eyes (FE), acquired before, one and 12 months after PDT. CVI, total choroidal area (TCA), luminal area (LA) and stromal area (SA) were calculated using validated binarization technique.

Article Synopsis
  • - The study focused on patients with one eye affected by exudative neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nAMD) to detect nonexudative macular neovascularization (neMNV) in the other eye using advanced imaging methods (ICGA and OCTA).
  • - Analyzing data from 241 patients, neMNV was diagnosed in 17% of cases, with ICGA and OCTA identifying it in different combinations, demonstrating overall similar sensitivities of around 80% and 83%, respectively.
  • - The findings concluded that using a combination of ICGA, OCTA, and conventional OCT offers a more thorough approach to screening for neMNV compared to using any single method alone. *

Purpose: The aim of the study is to analyze the swept source-optical coherence tomography angiography (SS-OCTA) characteristics of polypoidal lesions in Caucasian patients.

Methods: In this retrospective observational case series, 43 polypoidal lesions in 32 eyes of 32 patients were diagnosed using indocyanine green angiography (ICGA) and compared to SS-OCTA at a tertiary medical retina center (Clinic Landstrae, Vienna Healthcare Group, Austria) between June 2017 and March 2020. Vascularity was identified by color-coded B-scan SS-OCTA while morphology was described as revealed by en face SS-OCTA after alignment with ICGA-confirmed findings.
