Isoryanodane diterpene derivatives from .

From the MeOH residue of branches and leaves, one new isoryanodane diterpene, barringisol (), and two new isoryanodane diterpene glucosides, barringisosides A and B ( and ), were obtained using various chromatographic isolations. The structural characterization was confirmed by spectroscopic methods including 1D, 2D NMR and HR-ESI-QTOF-MS. This is the first isolation of isoryanodane diterpene derivatives from species.

Structure and cytotoxic activity of ulvan extracted from green seaweed Ulva lactuca.

The structure of an ulvan obtained by water extraction from green seaweed Ulva lactuca was elucidated by using IR, NMR, SEC-MALL and ESIMS methods. The ulvan was also evaluated for its cytotoxic effects on three human cancer cell lines. The results showed that the ulvan was composed of rhamnose, galactose, xylose, manose, glucose (with a mole ratio of Rha: Gal: Xyl: Man: Glu equal to 1: 0.

Two new sesquiterpenes from Sarcandra glabra.

Phytochemical study of the ethanol extract of Sarcandra glabra resulted in the isolation of two new sesquiterpenes, glabranols A (1) and B (2). Their structures were elucidated as 8alpha,9alpha,15-trihydroxylinden-4,7(11)-dien-12,8beta-olide (1) and 1beta,4alpha,7beta,11-tetrahydroxyeudesmane (2), by spectroscopic methods including 1D- and 2D-NMR and FTICR-MS.
