Introduction: The role of afatinib in the first-line treatment of EGFR-mutant advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients has been proven through clinical trials and real-world studies. However, additional data on the effectiveness of afatinib in patients with brain metastases are lacking.
Methods: EGFR-mutant NSCLC patients with brain metastases were retrospectively reviewed across nine cancer centers in Vietnam from April 1, 2018 to June 1, 2022.
Objectives: Antiplatelet therapy increases the risk of bleeding and transfusion in patients undergoing extracorporeal circulation. Reduced goal-directed anticoagulation is a personalized approach to reduce the anticoagulation based on a lower targeted activated clotting time. We assessed whether reduced goal-directed anticoagulation using optimized extracorporeal circulation alleviates the risk of severe bleeding in patients treated by dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT) compared to aspirin alone during coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG).

This study aimed to clarify the presence of plasmid-mediated quinolone resistance(PMQR)genes in extended-spectrum β-lactamase(ESBL)-producing or/and mcr-harbouring colistin(COL)-resistant Escherichia coli(ESBL-COL-EC)isolates from Vietnamese and Japanese chicken meat. Resistance towards ciprofloxacin(CIP)was examined in 308 ESBL-COL-EC isolates; CIP-resistant ESBL-COL-EC isolates were examined for the PMQR gene.

However, the role of T cells in the differentiation of mBCs, in contrast to naive B cells, remains to be delineated. We study the role of T cells in mBC responses, using CD40L stimulation and autologous T-B co-cultures.

It remains unclear if BMPC reflect different activation environments or maturation of their precursors. Here we define human BMPC heterogeneity and track the recruitment of antibody-secreting cells (ASC) from SARS-CoV-2 vaccine immune reactions to the bone marrow (BM).

As thrombolysis is contraindicated in this situation, surgical pulmonary embolectomy may be indicated in case of high-risk pulmonary embolism but requires transient anticoagulation with heparin during cardiopulmonary bypass. We report the case of a patient with a history of heparin-induced thrombocytopenia who presented with a high-risk pulmonary embolism 10 days after the spontaneous onset of a voluminous intracerebral hematoma.

This comprised one novel component, ecurvoside, and six well-studied compounds, namely astragalin, isoquercitrin, nicotiflorin, rutin, hesperidin, and neohesperidin. The chemical structures of compounds were identified using spectroscopic techniques and a comparison with previously published studies.

Oxygen evolution reaction (OER) plays a crucial role as a counter half-reaction for both electrochemical hydrogen production through water splitting and the generation of valuable carbon compounds via CO reduction. To overcome the sluggish kinetics of the OER, significant efforts have been devoted to developing cost-effective, sustainable, and efficient electrocatalysts, with transition-metal-based catalysts emerging as promising candidates. Herein, we successfully synthesized a core-shell type nanostructure of Fe-doped CoMoO/CoMoO (CMFO), which exhibits excellent electrocatalytic properties for OER.

One-dimensional ZnO nanorods (NRs) have been extensively studied as photoanodes because of their unique optical properties, high electron mobility, and suitable band positions for water oxidation. However, their practical efficiency is often compromised by chemical instability during water oxidation and high carrier recombination rates. To overcome this issue, precise morphological control of ZnO@ZnWO core-shell structured photoanodes, featuring a ZnO core and a ZnWO shell was used.

However, the extent of neuro-inflammation and neuro-immune dysregulation remains poorly studied. In this study, we analyzed the composition of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) to uncover the inflammatory mediators driving the neuro-immune system in ASD and CP patients.

This study investigates the role of financial flexibility in preventing stock price crash risk in the Vietnamese stock market, with a specific focus on the COVID-19 pandemic. Using the fixed-effect, system GMM, and quantile regression methods on a sample of 645 Vietnamese listed firms from 2011 to 2021, this study found that financial flexibility has a significant impact on preventing stock price crash risk.

The mixture solution of CTS and GA was exposed to gamma rays at a dose of 25 kGy and freeze-dried to obtain a Maillard reaction product (MRP) powder. The physicochemical and biological properties of the CTS-GA MRP powder were investigated.

Case-based surveillance of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) provides more actionable data than isolate- or sample-based surveillance. We developed A Clinically Oriented antimicrobial Resistance surveillance Network (ACORN) as a lightweight but comprehensive platform, in which we combine clinical data collection with diagnostic stewardship, microbiological data collection and visualisation of the linked clinical-microbiology dataset. Data are compatible with WHO GLASS surveillance and can be stratified by syndrome and other metadata.
