Objective: Noble metal nanomaterials have been introduced as ideal sonosensitizers for sonodynamic therapy (SDT) of cancer. In this research, platinum nanoparticles (PtNPs) and mesoporous platinum (MPt) were first synthesized and then evaluated as novel sonosensitizers.

Objective: Cancer treatment using ultrasound irradiation with low intensities along with a sonosensitizer has been found to have significant advantages, such as high penetration depth in tissues, non-invasive therapeutic character, minor side effects, good patient adherence and preferential tumor area treatment. In the present study, gold nanoparticles covered by poly(ortho-aminophenol) (Au@POAP NPs) were synthesized and characterized as a new sonosensitizer.

Formation of a Cu(i)-alkylamine complex is found to be the key step for Cu(ii) ions to reduce to Cu(0) in the presence of glucose. Also, alkylamines in Cu nanowire synthesis serve triple roles as a reducing, complexation and capping agent. Alkylamines reduce Cu(ii) to Cu(i) at above 100 °C and protect the Cu(i) by forming a Cu ion-alkylamine coordination complex with a 1 : 2 ratio in an aqueous solution.

Introduction: The aim of the present study was to compare the efficacy of the inferior alveolar nerve block (IANB) and Gow-Gates techniques in mandibular molars with symptomatic irreversible pulpitis.

Methods And Materials: In this randomised, double-blind clinical trial, 80 patients referred to Mashhad Dental School, were randomly divided into two groups: IANB and Gow-Gates anaesthetic techniques using 2% lidocaine with 1:100000 epinephrine.
