Disparities in Basal Cell Carcinoma: A Comparative Analysis of Hispanic and Non-Hispanic White Individuals.

Objective: We sought to examine possible differences in BCC characteristics and treatment patterns between two matched cohorts of Hispanic White and non-Hispanic White individuals.

Methods: In this single institution, retrospective matched cohort study, data from patients with biopsy proven BCC from June 2005 to May 2022 was collected. Demographic, BCC, and treatment characteristics were compared between Hispanic White and non-Hispanic White individuals using a Wilcoxon rank-sum test, for continuous and ordinal variables, and Fisher's exact test, for categorical variables.

A Structured Approach for the Management of Orodynia (Burning Mouth Syndrome).

Orodynia (OD) manifests as an unexplained burning sensation in the oral cavity, often persisting for years without clear clinical findings. Currently, there is no clear protocol for managing OD. We propose a systematic approach that aims to exclude common potential causes and attempt proactive treatments.

An Analysis of Political Contributions from Otolaryngologists in the United States.

Objective: Doctors can influence the development of sound healthcare policy through financial contributions to political campaigns and candidates. Our objective was to characterize the political contributions of otolaryngologists in the United States, both individually and through the ENT Political Action Committee (ENTPAC) between the years 2003 and 2020.

Evaluation of Laryngology Fellowship Programs' Online Information.

Objective: Prospective laryngology fellows have limited opportunities to learn about fellowship programs besides personal conversations with program directors and mentors. Online information about fellowships may optimize the laryngology match process. The purpose of this study was to assess the utility of online information about laryngology fellowship programs through analysis of program websites and surveying current and recent laryngology fellows.

Content and Functionality of United States Medical School Websites.

Introduction Most medical school applicants use the internet as a source of information when applying for medical school. Previous analyses have evaluated residency and fellowship websites; however, an in-depth analysis of medical school websites is lacking. Methods We evaluated 192 United States (US) medical school websites for presence or absence of 39 items relevant to medical school applicants.
