MiRNAs (miRs) are emerging as valuable biomarker for disease monitoring, diagnosis, and prognostic evaluation, particularly cancer. Herein, we have developed a highly sensitive and specific fluorescent biosensor for miRNA detection using a DNA nanoframework-confined well-organized catalytic hairpin assembly (DOCO-CHA) system. The biosensor leverages DNA dendrimers, self-assembled from Y-DNA1 and Y-DNA2, to provide abundant intercalation sites for immobilizing a large number of catalytic hairpin assembly (CHA) probes, thereby enhancing the reaction environment and improving detection efficiency.

Accurate, rapid, and intelligent stored-grain insect detection and counting are important for integrated pest management (IPM). Existing stored-grain insect pest detection models are often not suitable for detecting tiny insects on the surface of grain bulks and often require high computing resources and computational memory. Therefore, this study presents a YOLO-SGInsects model based on YOLOv8s for tiny stored-grain insect detection on the surface of grain bulk by adding a tiny object detection layer (TODL), adjusting the neck network with an asymptotic feature pyramid network (AFPN), and incorporating a hybrid attention transformer (HAT) module into the backbone network.

Cellulosic triboelectric materials have gained widespread attention in triboelectric nanogenerators (TENGs) recently due to their fascinating merits of renewability, biodegradability, and low cost. However, cellulose-based TENGs still are challenged by the low surface charge density of triboelectric materials. Herein, the negative charged cellulosic triboelectric materials are functionalized as triboelectric layers for self-powered sensors via an electrostatic spinning method, where the electrospun polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) nanofibers fill with the porous air-laid paper (AP), boosting the formation of polar β-phase crystals and a negative shift of the surface potential.

Triggering receptor expressed on myeloid cells-2 (TREM2) is a cell surface receptor, majorly expressed by granulocytes, monocytes and macrophages. We in this study showed that TREM2 was downregulated in the lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-treated macrophages and murine acute lung injury (ALI) through activation of p38 MAPK and STAT6 signaling. Over-expression of TREM2 reduced the expression of DNAX-activation protein 12 (DAP12), pro-inflammatory cytokines (TNF-α, IL-6, IL-1β), Malondialdehyde (MDA) and hemosiderin accumulation in LPS-treated macrophages.
