Background: Maternal resuscitation in the emergency department requires planning and special consideration of the physiologic changes of pregnancy. Perimortem cesarean delivery (PMCD) is a rare but potentially life-saving procedure for both mother and fetus. This study was conducted to aid in the development of a multidisciplinary care center for patients with transverse myelitis. We surveyed the parents of 20 children diagnosed with transverse myelitis between the ages of 0.5 and 21 years to understand their experiences in navigating the health care system.
