The study was conducted to explore the relationship between arabinoxylan (AX) structure and microbial fermentation characteristics, and reveal molecular mechanism of AX on regulating immune function of the host. The low plating/stripping efficiency of zinc anodes, dendrite growth, and high freezing points of aqueous solutions hinder the practical application of aqueous zinc-ion batteries. This paper proposes a zwitterionic permeable network solid-state electrolyte based on the "anchor-capture" effect to address these problems by incorporating proline (Pro, a biological antifreeze agent) into the electrolyte. Extensive validation tests, Quantum Chemistry (QC) calculations, Molecular Dynamics (MD) Simulations, and ab initio molecular dynamics simulations consistently indicate that the amino groups in proline adsorb onto the Zn metal surface, stabilizing the zinc anode-electrolyte interface, suppressing side reactions from water decomposition, and homogenizing zinc-ion flux.

Ulcerative colitis (UC) is a debilitating inflammatory bowel disease characterized by intestinal inflammation, barrier dysfunction, and dysbiosis, with limited treatment options available. This study systematically investigates the therapeutic potential of a synbiotic composed of galactooligosaccharides (GOS) and Limosilactobacillus reuteri in a murine model of colitis, revealing that GOS and L. reuteri synergistically protect against intestinal inflammation and barrier dysfunction by promoting the synthesis of pentadecanoic acid, an odd-chain fatty acid, from Bacteroides acidifaciens.

5-Methylcytosine (5mC) is an established epigenetic mark in vertebrate genomic DNA, but whether its oxidation intermediates formed during TET-mediated DNA demethylation possess an instructive role of their own that is also physiologically relevant remains unresolved. Here, we reveal a 5-formylcytosine (5fC) nuclear chromocenter, which transiently forms during zygotic genome activation (ZGA) in Xenopus and mouse embryos. This study examined the suppressive effects of 16 selected plant-based foods on α-glucosidase and pancreatic lipase and their antioxidant properties. Among these, the bark of Cinnamomum cassia (Cinnamon, WLN-FM 15) showed the highest inhibitory activity against α-glucosidase and the highest antioxidant activity. Herein, a strategy of coupling molecular solvation and crystal growth is presented to fabricate porous spherulites of 2,4,6,8,10,12-hexanitro-2,4,6,8,10,12-hexaazaisowurtzitane (CL-20), an important energetic material. With the addition of polyvinylpyrrolidone in the antisolvent crystallization, the metastable solvate of CL-20 is formed and grows spherulitically, and spontaneously desolvates to obtain the porous spherulite when filtration, in which the characteristic peak of the nitro group of CL-20 shifts detected by the in situ micro-confocal Raman spectroscopy.

C-H carboxylation of furoic acid (FA) with CO is an atom-efficient strategy to produce 2,5-furandicarboxylic acid (2,5-FDCA) from lignocellulose. The existing carbonate-promoted CO carboxylation processes rely on the use of large amounts of expensive CsCO as a deprotonating reagent and molten salt.
