Article Synopsis
  • Auxin influences plant growth through various signaling pathways, with a notable one being the SCF-Aux/IAA-ARF pathway, and a recently discovered noncanonical pathway involving Transmembrane Kinase 1 (TMK1).
  • In apical hook development, auxin accumulation activates TMK1, leading to the phosphorylation and stabilization of IAA32/34, which ultimately inhibits cell elongation necessary for proper hook formation.
  • The study identifies the CKRW1/WAV3 E3 ubiquitin ligases as key players in targeting IAA32/34 for degradation, with their activity being inhibited by TMK1c phosphorylation, thereby regulating the balance of cell elongation on different sides of the apical hook.

Chronic pain is a notable health concern because of its prevalence, persistence, and associated mental stress. Drugs targeting chronic pain with potent abirritation, and minimal side effects remain unidentified. Substantial evidence indicates that the Janus Kinase 2 (JAK2)/signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (STAT3) signaling pathway plays a distinct and critical role in different stages of chronic pain.

Article Synopsis
  • RAD23 proteins, like MdRAD23D1, help transport ubiquitylated proteins to the 26S proteasome for degradation and play a role in plant response to drought stress.
  • Under drought conditions, MdRAD23D1 levels increase, which enhances stress tolerance in apple plants by degrading a proline-rich protein, MdPRP6.
  • The interaction between MdRAD23D1 and MdPRP6 reveals that while MdRAD23D1 improves drought resilience, MdPRP6 has a negative effect on drought response by influencing proline accumulation.

Pancake virtual reality head-mounted displays (VR-HMDs) have attracted the attention of researchers in both academia and industry because of the compact size and light weight. However, owing to the use of optical path folding, there exist various stray lights in the optical system, which seriously degrades user experience. In this study, we analyze the causes and effects of multiple types of stray light systematically and design a VR-HMD with low stray light, large exit pupil diameter (EPD), compact form and light weight.

Nitric oxide (NO)/cyclic guanosine 3',5'-monophosphate (cGMP) signaling has been shown to act as a mediator involved in pain transmission and processing. In this review, we summarize and discuss the mechanisms of the NO/cGMP signaling pathway involved in chronic pain, including neuropathic pain, bone cancer pain, inflammatory pain, and morphine tolerance. The main process in the NO/cGMP signaling pathway in cells involves NO activating soluble guanylate cyclase, which leads to subsequent production of cGMP.
