IEEE Trans Ultrason Ferroelectr Freq Control
September 2024
A two port surface acoustic wave (SAW) device was developed to be used for the control and excitation via spin waves (SW). The structure was manufactured using advanced nanolithography techniques, on GaN/Si, enabling fundamental Rayleigh interdigitated transducer (IDT) resonances in GHz frequency range. The ferromagnetic resonance of the magnetostrictive Ni/NiFeSi layer placed between the IDTs of the SAW device can be tuned to the SAW resonance frequency by magnetic fields.

The transistors work like energy harvesters, i.e.

This manuscript presents an overview of the implications of nanomaterials in harvesting ambient electromagnetic waves. We show that the most advanced electromagnetic harvesting devices are based on oxides with a thickness of few nanometers, carbon nanotubes, graphene, and molybdenum disulfide thanks to their unique physical properties. These tiny objects can produce in the years to come a revolution in the harvesting of energy originating from the Sun, heat, or the Earth itself.

This paper presents an efficient method to generate high-order Bessel-Gauss beams carrying orbital angular momentum (OAM) by using a thin and compact optical element such as a multilevel spiral axicon. This approach represents an excellent alternative for diffraction-free OAM beam generation instead of complex methods based on a doublet formed by a physical spiral phase plate and zero-order axicon, phase holograms loaded on spatial light modulators (SLMs), or the interferometric method. Here, we present the fabrication process for axicons with 16 and 32 levels, characterized by high mode conversion efficiency and good transmission for visible light (λ = 633 nm wavelength).

The MoS thin film (10-monolayers nominal thickness) was grown on a 4 inch AlO/high-resistivity silicon wafer by chemical vapor deposition process. The Raman measurements confirm the high quality of the MoS over the whole area of the 4 inch wafer.

A commercial heat-cured powder was polymerized according to the manufacturer's specifications and distributed into 20 circular samples. A stainless-steel wire was partially embedded in half of the discs, in order to investigate the metal-polymer interface.

The phase shift is larger than 60° at 1 GHz and 13° at 10 GHz at maximum applied DC voltages of ±3 V, which can be supplied by a simple commercial battery. In this way, we demonstrate experimentally that the new ferroelectrics based on HfO could play an important role in the future development of wireless communication systems for very low power applications.
