Influence of Modification of the Plasticizing System on the Extrusion-Cooking Process and Selected Physicochemical Properties of Rapeseed and Buckwheat Straws.

The article discusses the effect of modification of the plasticizing system of a single-screw extruder on selected physicochemical properties of rapeseed straw and buckwheat straw. A TS-45 single-screw extruder (ZMCh Metalchem, Gliwice, Poland) with an L/D = 12 plasticizing system was used for the process. The shredded straws were moistened to four moisture levels: 20, 25, 30 and 35% dry matter.

The Use of Lignin as a Microbial Carrier in the Co-Digestion of Cheese and Wafer Waste.

The aim of the article was to present the effects of lignin grafted with polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) as a microbial carrier in anaerobic co-digestion (AcoD) of cheese (CE) and wafer waste (WF). Individual samples of waste cheese and wafers were also tested. The PVP modifier was used to improve the adhesive properties of the carrier surface.

This paper describes the methods of computer image analysis used for objective comparison of the appearance of composted materials under diverse conditions in terms of size and thermal insulation of the composting chambers. An effective method of utilizing vegetable waste in the form of carriers for Trichoderma strains with phytosanitary properties.

It has been assumed that compost from savoy cabbage and rapeseed straw is a good substrate for discrimination of the reproduction potential of Trichoderma strains. This hypothesis was verified based on a two-stage incubation experiment. The prepared mixture was fermented in a bio-reactor for 11 weeks.
