The degenerative diseases in menopause-age women has been continued to increase every year. This study aimed to analyze the relation of body mass index, waist circumference, and body fat percentage on blood biochemical markers of lipid and oxidative stress in menopausal women. This randomized control trial (RCT) was conducted using a cross-over design.

Review of Food Intake Difficulty Assessment Tools for People with Dementia.

This review aimed to summarise the validity and reliability of feeding difficulties assessment tools for Individual with dementia. PubMed, PsycINFO, MEDLINE, CINAHL and Scopus were searched for feeding difficulty measurements studies published between 1990 and 2019. Sixteen publications were included and identified three tools: Edinburgh Feeding Evaluation in Dementia (EdFED), Feeding Behaviour Inventory (FBI), and Feeding Difficulty Index (FDI).

Comparing the effect of tempe flour and tofu flour consumption on estrogen serum in ovariectomized rats.

Estrogen decreasing during menopause can create problems in the cardiovascular organs, brain, urogental tract, and bone. Estrogen replacement therapy (ERT) can be used to increase estrogen levels. However, side-effects including breast cancer may limit their use.

Tempereversed effects of ovariectomy on brain function in rats: Effects of age and type of soy product.

Backgroud: The aims of this study were to analyze the differences in nutrient content and isoflavones in tempe flour and tofu flour, and to analyze the effect of tempe and tofu flour on cognitive function of female rats after ovariectomy.

Method: Seventy two (72) white female Sprague Dawley strain rats, aged 12 months were used for this study. Before the intervention 52 rats underwent ovariectomy (OVx) and they were grouped into 4 intervention groups: tempe flour (Tp), tofu flour (Tf), estradiol (E2), and casein as a control protein (Cs).

Torbangun (Coleus amboinicus Lour): a Bataknese traditional cuisine perceived as lactagogue by Bataknese lactating women in Simalungun, North Sumatera, Indonesia.

Torbangun (Coleus amboinicus Lour) has been used as a breast milk stimulant (a lactagogue) by Bataknese people in Indonesia for hundreds of years. However, the traditional use of torbangun is not well documented, and scientific evidence is limited to establish coleus as a lactagogue. This Focus Group Discussion (FGD) study was conducted to gather information regarding the practice and cultural beliefs related to the traditional use of torbangun as a lactagogue.

Coleus amboinicus Lour (CA) has been used as a breast milk stimulant (a lactagogue) by Bataknese people in Indonesia for hundreds of years. However, the traditional use of CA is not well documented, and scientific evidence is limited to establish CA as a lactagogue. This investigation was conducted to elucidate the effect of traditional use of CA during the first month of lactation on quantity and quality of the breast milk.
