The study focused on documenting the traditional knowledge of medicinal plants used by the Yanadi tribe in Andhra Pradesh and validating their antimicrobial properties.
The researchers used a questionnaire to gather data on the plants, verifying their medicinal uses with Dr. Duke's Database and existing literature.
Results indicated that herbs were predominantly used, with most preparations being pastes for oral consumption; the study also found significant antimicrobial activity in selected plant extracts.
