Objective: To compare nationwide outcomes of robotic liver resection (RLR) with laparoscopic liver resection (LLR).
Background: Minimally invasive liver resection is increasingly performed using the robotic approach as this could help overcome inherent technical limitations of laparoscopy. It is unknown if this translates to improved patient outcomes.
Background: It remains unclear what lifestyle behaviors are optimal for controlling postprandial glucose responses under real-world circumstances in persons without diabetes. We aimed to assess associations of diet, physical activity, and sleep with postprandial glucose responses in Asian adults without diabetes under free-living conditions.
Methods: We conducted an observational study collecting intensive longitudinal data using smartphone-based ecological momentary assessments, accelerometers, and continuous glucose monitors over nine free-living days in Singaporean men and women aged 21-69 years without diabetes.
Objective: To characterize the nature of digital food and beverage advertising in Singapore.
Setting: Food and beverage advertisements within 20 clicks on top 12 non-food websites and all posts on Facebook and Instagram pages of 15 major food companies in Singapore were sampled from January 1 to June 30, 2018.
Design: Advertised foods were classified as being core (healthier), non-core or mixed-dishes (example burger) using the WHO nutrient profile model and national guidelines.

We aimed to (i) evaluate the associations between body mass index (BMI), waist circumference (WC), and ∼5,000 plasma proteins (SomaScan v4), (ii) identify protein signatures of BMI and WC, and (iii) evaluate the associations between the protein signatures and cardiometabolic health including metabolically unhealthy obesity and type 2 diabetes incidence in the Singapore Multi-Ethnic Cohort (MEC1). Among 410 BMI-associated and 385 WC-associated proteins, we identified protein signatures of BMI and WC and validated them in an independent dataset across two timepoints and externally in the Atherosclerosis Risk in Communities (ARIC) study.

We engineer a humanized monoclonal antibody against the ectonucleotidase ENPP1 (hENPP1mAb) that targets metabolic crosstalk in the infarcted heart. In mice expressing human ENPP1, systemic administration of hENPP1mAb metabolically reprograms myocytes and non-myocytes and leads to a significant rescue of post-MI heart dysfunction.

This study presents an application of an Artificial Neural Network (ANN) to detect fluids in an annular flow regime using Prompt-Gamma Neutron Activation Analysis (PGNAA). The ANN was trained using gamma-ray spectra resulting from neutron interactions with chemical elements found in fluids typical of multiphase flow in oil exploration. These spectra were generated through mathematical simulation using the MCNP6 Monte Carlo computer code to model nuclear particle transport.

Background: Patients with R0 and pN0 resected PDAC have a relatively favorable prognosis. As PNI is associated with worse OS, this might be a useful factor to provide further prognostic information for patients counselling.
Background: The purpose of this study was to compare 3-year overall survival after simultaneous portal (PVE) and hepatic vein (HVE) embolization versus PVE alone in patients undergoing liver resection for primary and secondary cancers of the liver.
Methods: In this multicentre retrospective study, all DRAGON 0 centres provided 3-year follow-up data for all patients who had PVE/HVE or PVE, and were included in DRAGON 0 between 2016 and 2019. Kaplan-Meier analysis was undertaken to assess 3-year overall and recurrence/progression-free survival.
