[Special care in dentistry. The therapeutic relationship].

Psychological relationship dentist-patient and psychological education of the dentist are in special dental care very important. In fact the patients with medically complex conditions--patients at risk--often present an altered perception of the reality and behavior, therefore they seldom can co-operate during the operating session. It is then very important to carry-out a psycho-pathological diagnosis, which can avoid a dentist's wrong behavior.

[Prevention of oral mucositis during antiblastic chemotherapy].

Oral complications of cancer chemotherapy have been studied in a group of 50 adult patients. A number of 25 patients was treated by means of oral hygiene and prophylactic measures: drugs and topical agents, while the other group of 25 patients had not received stomatological prevention. The goal of the research has showed that prevention measures and elimination of existing or potential sources of infection reduce and minimize mucositis, infection etc.

[Hippocratic oath and the deontology of dentistry].

After an historical briefly mentioning to Hippocrates' oath and the one of the German dentist (1880), this paper considers article n. 32 of the italian Constitution and the physician's responsibility, not only from the deontological aspect, but also with particular reference to the patient's rights which lead to the obligation of consensus. The Authors conclude looking forward to a special deontological code for dental graduates as soon as possible.
