Treatment of Genitourinary Syndrome of Menopause in Breast Cancer and Gynecologic Cancer Survivors: Retrospective Analysis of Efficacy and Safety of Vaginal Estriol, Vaginal Dehydroepiandrosterone and Ospemifene.

Objectives: To compare the efficacy and safety of three different treatment options (vaginal estriol, vaginal dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA), and ospemifene) for treating genitourinary syndrome of menopause (GSM) in breast cancer and gynecologic cancer survivors.

Methods: A retrospective comparative analysis was performed among 185 cancer survivors (including breast, endometrial, ovarian, cervical, and vulvar cancer) affected by GSM. Women were divided into three groups according to the prescribed therapy (vaginal estriol, vaginal DHEA, and ospemifene).

Long-Term Sequential Digital Dermoscopy of Low-Risk Patients May Not Improve Early Diagnosis of Melanoma Compared to Periodical Handheld Dermoscopy.

Sequential digital dermoscopy (SDD) enables the diagnosis of a subgroup of slow-growing melanomas that lack suspicious features at baseline examination but exhibit detectable change on follow-up. The combined use of total-body photography and SDD is recommended in high-risk subjects by current guidelines. To establish the usefulness of SDD for low-risk individuals, we conducted a retrospective study using electronic medical records of low-risk patients with a histopathological diagnosis of cutaneous melanoma between 1 January 2016 and 31 December 2019, who had been referred and monitored for long-term follow-up of clinically suspicious melanocytic nevi.

Early use of cardiac troponin-I and echocardiography imaging for prediction of myocardial infarction size in Wistar rats.

Aims: Evaluating myocardial infarct (MI) size prior to intervention is fundamental to ensure accurate results in experimental studies. However, this assessment is performed at late time points. We aimed to evaluate whether measuring plasma cardiac troponin I (cTnI) and performing echocardiographic assessment at earlier time points can predict the occurrence of MI and infarct size.
