Background: Portal vein thrombosis (PVT) is an infrequent, yet potentially lethal, complication of bariatric surgery. The aim of this prospective, non-randomized, cohort study is to compare between laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy (LSG) and laparoscopic one-anastomosis gastric bypass (LOAGB) in terms of their early postoperative effects on portal venous flow and patency.
Methods: Forty-nine morbidly obese patients were allocated to one of 2 groups (A or B).
This retrospective cohort study aims to review our 18-year experience with early hepatic artery thrombosis (e-HAT) following living-donor liver transplantation (LDLT), as well as to assess the feasibility, efficacy and potential risks of endovascular management of e-HAT in the first 48 hours (hrs) post-LDLT. Medical records of 730 patients who underwent LDLT were retrospectively reviewed. In all cases who had developed e-HAT, treatment modalities employed and their outcomes were evaluated.
