Objective: One of the most important parts of accurate wound definition is wound depth. In our study, we aimed to reveal the deficiencies in the depth of wound definition in the general forensic examination forms prepared in the emergency services and to increase the awareness of the physicians responsible for preparing the general forensic examination form.

Materials And Methods: In our study, we included cases from the years 2020 to 2021 that were evaluated by our team upon seeking assistance from the Department of Forensic Medicine at Tokat Gaziosmanpasa University Medical School.

Carbazochrome carbon nanotube as drug delivery nanocarrier for anti-bleeding drug: quantum chemical study.

The interaction between drugs and single-walled carbon nanotubes is proving to be of fundamental interest for drug system of delivery and nano-bio-sensing. In this study, the interaction of pristine CNT with carbazochrome, an anti-hemorrhagic or hemostatic agent, was investigated with M06-2X functional and 6-31G basis set. All probable positions of related adsorption for these kind drugs were thought-out to find out which one is energetically suitable.

Avoiding the emergence of contrast-induced acute kidney injury in acute coronary syndrome: routine hydration treatment.

Background: Patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) have about a three-fold risk for developing contrast-induced acute kidney injury(CI-AKI). Investigating studies on routine hydration therapy have frequently included patients with stable coronary artery disease and high risk of CI-AKI [estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) < 60 ml/min]. However, data on routine hydration treatment in non-ST segment elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI) patients with eGFR ≥60 ml/min are insufficient.

The relationship between protein convertase subtilisin kexin type-9 levels and extent of coronary artery disease in patients with non-ST-elevation myocardial infarction.

Background: Cardiovascular disease is one of the leading causes of death worldwide. According to the results of various studies, protein convertase subtilisin kexin type-9 (PCSK9) was determined as a novel risk factor for stable coronary artery disease. Few studies have investigated the relationship between PCSK9 levels and the severity of coronary artery disease in patients with acute coronary syndrome; thus, we herein aimed to investigate this relationship in patients with non-ST-elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI) who underwent coronary angiography.

Psychometric characteristics of Duruoz Hand Index in patients with traumatic hand flexor tendon injuries.

Introduction: The aim of the study was to assess reliability, validity and responsiveness of Duruoz Hand Index (DHI), which has been developed for evaluation of activity limitation in rheumatoid arthritis in patients with traumatic hand flexor tendon injuries.

Material And Method: Sixty-five patients older than 16 years who underwent surgical intervention after flexor tendon injuries were enrolled. Reliability was assessed by internal consistency (with Cronbach's-α) and test-retest intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC).
