Introduction: People with cystic fibrosis (PwCF) are at high risk for developing cystic fibrosis (CF)-related diabetes (CFRD), which worsens morbidity and mortality. Although the pathological events leading to the development of CFRD are complex and not completely understood, dietary factors may play a role. For example, habitual intake of dietary added sugar (i.

The study included CSC programs that subscribe to a variety of models, including Early Assessment and Support Alliance, OnTrack, and NAVIGATE.
Methods: Deidentified demographic and outcome data were collected from clients (N=770) receiving CSC services in 36 programs at the time of program entry and every 6 months for up to 18 months.
Background: Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) provides a detailed representation of glucose fluctuations in individuals, offering a rich dataset for understanding glycemic control in diabetes management. This study explores the potential of Riemannian manifold-based geometric clustering to analyze and interpret CGM data for individuals with Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) and healthy controls (HC), aiming to enhance diabetes management and treatment personalization.
Methods: We utilized CGM data from publicly accessible datasets, covering both T1D individuals on insulin and HC.
Background: CF-related diabetes (CFRD) is a common, life-expectancy limiting complication of CF. While Black race and Hispanic ethnicity in youth-onset type 1 and type 2 diabetes are well-recognized risk factors for worse diabetes complications, the potential for racial/ethnic disparities in CFRD has received limited attention.
Methods: We conducted a retrospective cohort study utilizing the CF Foundation Patient Registry from 2010 to 2019 to determine the prevalence and incidence of CFRD by race/ethnicity.

Cystic fibrosis (CF) has been traditionally viewed as a disease that affects White individuals. However, CF occurs among all races, ethnicities, and geographic ancestries. The disorder results from mutations in the ().

Design: This was a cross-sectional study of = 27 adults with CF with glucose tolerance ranging from normal ( = 9) to prediabetes ( = 6) to being classified as having cystic fibrosis-related diabetes (CFRD, = 12).
Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a recessive disorder arising from mutations in the gene encoding the cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR) protein. CFTR is expressed in numerous tissues, with high expression in the airways, small and large intestine, pancreatic and hepatobiliary ducts, and male reproductive tract. CFTR loss in these tissues disrupts regulation of salt, bicarbonate, and water balance across their epithelia, resulting in a systemic disorder with progressive organ dysfunction and damage.

Type 2 diabetes is characterized by progressive decline in pancreatic β-cell function. Studies in adult subjects with newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes have reported that intensive insulin therapy followed by various antihyperglycemic medications can delay β-cell decline. However, this improvement is lost after cessation of therapy.

A 10-year-old female with cystic fibrosis (CF), diagnosed by newborn screen, and pancreatic insufficiency was referred by gastroenterology to endocrinology for short stature (Z-score -3.5 SD). She had poor growth velocity and delayed bone age, although stunting of her growth was evident by age 6 years.

The proliferation of CSC programs was likely due in part to the availability of Mental Health Block Grant (MHBG) set-aside funds for treatment of first-episode psychosis. This study aimed to explore the characteristics of CSC programs across 44 states, the District of Columbia, and three U.

Methods: As part of a national study of coordinated specialty care (CSC) sites in the United States, 35 programs documented race for 772 clients. Programs identified a geographic service area for their clients.
Background: Risk of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) in transgender and gender diverse (TGD) persons, especially those receiving gender-affirming hormone therapy (GAHT) is an area of clinical and research importance.
Methods: We used data from an electronic health record-based cohort study of persons 18 years and older enrolled in 3 integrated health care systems. The cohort included 2869 transfeminine members matched to 28 300 cisgender women and 28 258 cisgender men on age, race/ethnicity, calendar year, and site, and 2133 transmasculine members similarly matched to 20 997 cisgender women and 20 964 cisgender men.
We report a 13-year-old female with rapid-onset obesity, hypothalamic dysfunction, hypoventilation, and autonomic dysregulation (ROHHAD) syndrome, panhypopituitarism, dyslipidemia, type 2 diabetes mellitus, and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, who developed rhabdomyolysis and acute kidney injury, two weeks after switching from lovastatin to rosuvastatin. She had been on lovastatin for eight years without any adverse effects.

We report a 15-year-old girl with ROHHAD who developed hyperphagia and rapid weight gain of 16 kg between 2.5 and 4 years of age and cardiorespiratory arrest at 4 years.

This study aimed to determine if there were patterns of progression of worsening glucose homeostasis in pediatric CF patients and to explore any relationship to lung function.
Methods: We conducted a retrospective cohort study of CF patients, ages 10-18 years, without CFRD and with ≥3 OGTT from 2013 to 2016.
Purpose: To describe 10-week and 12-month outcomes following treatment for divergence insufficiency-type esotropia in adults.
Methods: In this prospective observational study, 110 adults with divergence insufficiency-type esotropia, with a distance esodeviation measuring 2 to 30 and at least 25% larger at distance than near, and binocular diplopia present at least "sometimes" at distance, were enrolled at 28 sites when initiating new treatment. Surgery, prism, or divergence exercises/therapy were chosen at the investigator's discretion.
Use ofcombined x-ray diffraction and x-ray absorption spectroscopy for the study of the thermal decomposition of zinc peroxide to zinc oxide is reported here. Comparison of data extracted from both x-ray diffraction (XRD) and x-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS) with thermo gravimetric analysis (TGA) enabled us to follow the nature of the conversion of ZnOto ZnO. A temperature range between 230 °C and 350 °C appears to show that a very poorly crystalline ZnO is formed prior to the formation of an ordered ZnO material.

Family-run organizations are an important source of support for families of children with serious emotional disturbance, yet little work has explored how these organizations sustain their work. The National Evaluation Team (NET) for the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration's Children's Mental Health Initiative grant program interviewed 20 family organizations in Grant Year 2 and 22 organizations in Year 4 to assess their main funding sources, the adequacy of this funding to support the organization, and changes in their funding and financial sustainability over time. Family organizations were supported mainly by mental health authority and other state agency funding and were in early stages of accessing Medicaid funding for peer services.
