Article Synopsis
  • - Using a specific transgenic zebrafish line, researchers found that the pou5f3 gene is crucial for the development of the isthmus at the midbrain-hindbrain boundary during embryogenesis, with its effects varying before and after gastrulation.
  • - Inducing the en-pou5f3 gene around the end of gastrulation led to significant impairment or absence of the isthmus by 24 hours post-fertilization, along with the downregulation of important MHB markers like pax2a and fgf8a.
  • - Further investigation revealed that pou5f3 directly regulates the expression of pax2a and potentially other MHB genes, indicating its key role in the formation of the is

Various remote sensing technologies have been applied in intelligent vehicles and robots for surrounding-environment recognition. However, these technologies experience difficulties in detecting pedestrians in blind areas and their motions, such as rush-out behaviors. To address this issue, we present a radar-based technique for the detection of pedestrians in blind areas and the classification of different risks of rush-out behaviors among detected pedestrians.
