5-(3-Hydroxy-4-methoxyphenyl)-4-(3,4,5-trimethoxyphenyl)-3H-1,2-dithiol-3-one (COH-203) is a novel synthesized analogue of combretastatin A-4 that can be classified as a microtubule inhibitor. In this study, we evaluated the anti-hepatoma effect of COH-203 in vitro and in vivo and explored the underlying molecular mechanisms. COH-203 was shown to be more effective in inhibiting the proliferation of liver cancer cells compared with normal liver cells.

This study is to establish a simple and practical co-culture method of cortical neurons and astrocytes of rats. The cortex of the new-born SD rats was digested by 0.125% pancreatic enzyme, and the differential adherence was applied to obtain the mixed cell suspension of neurons and astrocytes.

Berberine, the main effective composition of Chinese Goldthread Rhizome, is also effective in treating diabetes in today's clinical practice of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Aim Of The Study: To evaluate the hypoglycemic activity of berberine which treats acutely on the postprandial blood glucose, and to explore the mechanism of this activity.

This study investigated the effects of acute and chronic administration of the non-competitive NMDA receptor antagonists MK-801 on c-Fos protein expression in different brain regions of mice with or without clozapine. MK-801 (0.6 mg/kg) acute administration produced a significant increase in the expression of c-Fos protein in the layers III-IV of posterior cingulate and retrosplenial (PC/RS) cortex, which was consistent with the previous reports.

Our results showed that sarsasapogenin treatment at 12.5, 25 and 50 mg/kg (p.

MK-801 (0.6 mg/kg) or ketamine (50 mg/kg) acute administration significantly increased *OH levels in mouse PC/RS cortex.

In line with earlier studies, acute administration of MK-801 induced an increase of Glu in the PFC.
