The HOPs included lipophilic polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) and polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs), as well as proteinophilic perfluoroalkyl carboxylic acids (PFCAs). Concentrations of PCBs, PBDEs, and short-chain PFCAs (≤8) were significantly higher in the body feathers than in the primary feathers, while long-chain PFCAs (>8) showed no significant differences among primary, tail, and body feathers.

To the best of our knowledge, there have been few cases of the combined use of SL and CLC in freezing rooster semen. We investigated the effects of CLC, SL, and their combination on rooster sperm cryodamage.

Methods: We enrolled 231 patients with ITFs who underwent proximal femoral nail antirotation (PFNA) surgery at the Orthopedics Department of Northern Jiangsu People's Hospital, Jiangsu Province, China, from January 2021 to December 2023. Hidden blood loss was calculated using the OSTEO formula, and independent risk factors were screened using the Least Absolute Shrinkage and Selection Operator (LASSO) logistic regression.

Objectives: To investigate the inhibitory effect of GSK484, a PAD4 inhibitor, on H3Cit expression following sepsis and its effects for improving sepsis-induced endothelial dysfunction.
Methods: Eighteen C57BL/6 mice were randomized into sham-operated group, sepsis model group and GSK484 treatment group (6), and in the latter two groups, models of sepsis were established by cecal ligation and puncture (CLP). The mice in GSK484 treatment group were given an intraperitoneal injection of GSK484 (4 mg/kg) on the second day following the surgery.

Objective: This study aimed to develop 3 models based on computed tomography (CT) images of patients with craniofacial fibrous dysplasia (CFD): a radiomics model (Model Rad), a deep learning (DL) model (Model DL), and a hybrid radiomics and DL model (Model Rad+DL), and evaluate the ability of these models to distinguish between adolescents with active lesion progression and adults with stable lesion progression.
Methods: We retrospectively analyzed preoperative CT scans from 148 CFD patients treated at Shanghai Ninth People's Hospital. The images were processed using 3D-Slicer software to segment and extract regions of interest for radiomics and DL analysis.
Curcumin is a hydrophobic polyphenolic compound with potent anti-inflammatory properties. However, whether it can achieve therapeutic effects by alleviating neuroinflammation in patients with Parkinson's disease (PD) and its potential mechanism are still unknown. This study explored the effects of curcumin on neuroinflammation in dopaminergic neurons and deciphered its direct target in the histone deacetylase 6 (HDAC6)-Nucleotide-binding domain, leucine-rich repeat, and pyrin domain-containing protein 3 (NLRP3) pathway, revealing the potential role of curcumin in the treatment of Parkinson's disease.

Their host specificity allows phages to target pathogenic bacteria without disrupting the gut microbiota, offering distinct advantages in the prevention and control of intestinal pathogens. The interaction between the phage and the gut plays a crucial role in the efficacy of phage-mediated bacterial killing.

The results indicated that the OMZ was located at 200-1000 m and a threshold of 100 μmol/kg was established for this area of the Western Pacific. The DOC and POC changed drastically out of OMZ while they were relatively stable within the OMZ due to the low oxygen.

Patients And Methods: We retrospectively analyzed data from patients with advanced RCC who received first-line ICIs-TKIs combination treatment at West China Hospital of Sichuan University between October 2018 and July 2024. Patients who are assessed as having a disease control status after 2 years of continuous treatment will continue to receive immune checkpoint inhibitors until the inhibitors are discontinued due to disease progression or death.

Cross-β structures are crucial in driving protein folding and aggregation. However, due to their strong aggregating tendency, the precise control of the self-assembly of β-sheet-forming peptides remains a challenge. We propose a molecular geometry strategy to study and control the self-assembly of cross-β structures.

In the periodic table, Cu as only the candidate can convert CO2 to C2+ products such as C2H4 and C2H5OH due to the suitable absorption energy to reaction intermediate. Application of Cu is limited for its low activity and poor selectivity.

Ripening significantly influences fruit quality and commercial value. Peaches (Prunus persica), a climacteric fruit, exhibit increased ethylene biosynthesis and decreased fruit firmness during ripening. NAC-like proteins activated by AP3/P1 (NAP) proteins are a subfamily of NAC transcription factors, and certain NAPs have been shown to intervene in fruit ripening.

Although MOFs with excellent decontamination capabilities are achievable, ensuring their long-term stability, especially in the organoarsenic harmless treatment, remains a formidable challenge. Herein, we proposed a unique nanoconfinement strategy using graphene oxide (GO)-supported Prussian blue analogs (PBA) as catalytic membrane, which modulated the peroxymonosulfate (PMS) activation in p-arsanilic acid (p-ASA) degradation from traditional radical pathways to a synergy of both radical and non-radical pathways.

Fluoride (F) is the most important inorganic pollutant in groundwater that affects human health, and analyzing the causes of high-fluoride groundwater is a prerequisite for protecting the health of residents. To comprehensively understand the enrichment characteristics of groundwater in the high-fluoride areas, this study systematically investigated the concentrations of fluoride in Gaomi City, a typical study area in the Jiaolai Plain and explored the spatiotemporal distribution patterns, enrichment mechanisms, and the probabilistic health risk associated with F. The results indicate that there is serious fluorine pollution in groundwater, which is mainly concentrated in the alluvial plain in the north and affected by topographical and aquifer characteristics.
