The three-dimensional structure of proteins determines their function in vital biological processes. Thus, when the structure is known, the molecular mechanism of protein function can be understood in more detail and obtained information utilized in biotechnological, diagnostics, and therapeutic applications. Over the past five years, machine learning (ML)-based modeling has pushed protein structure prediction to the next level with AlphaFold in the front line, predicting the structure for hundreds of millions of proteins.

We examined effects of BMI on survival in SCCHN patients after stratifying patients by tumor human papillomavirus (HPV) status and subsite.
Methods: Totally 2204 SCCHN patients in a prospective study were included in this secondary analysis.
Purpose: Infants with perceived feeding problems are frequently referred for assessment of their feeding abilities. However, little is known regarding how healthy nondysphagic infants perform on commonly used assessments, making determination of impairment difficult. Prior studies have focused on the association of carotid intima media thickness or carotid stenosis; however, there is evidence that carotid plaque may contribute to dementia, perhaps via microembolic phenomena.
Objectives: We sought to evaluate the role of carotid plaque in contributing to cognitive impairment by performing a systematic review and meta-analysis to summarize the association between extracranial carotid plaque and cognitive dysfunction and dementia.
Background: High-risk human papillomavirus (HR-HPV) infection is a risk factor for anal cancer, yet no anal cancer screening guidelines exist for women with lower genital tract HPV-related disease. We sought to describe the prevalence of anal HR-HPV or cytologic abnormalities in such women.
Methods: This cross-sectional study was performed between October 2018 and December 2021.

Methods: Head and neck FNA biopsy specimens from 2012 to 2020 were retrospectively collected. Cobas HPV testing was performed on 90 FNA specimens with valid Cervista HPV testing results.
Many environmentally and clinically important fungi are sensitive to toxic, bacterially produced, redox-active molecules called phenazines. Despite being vulnerable to phenazine assault, fungi inhabit microbial communities that contain phenazine producers. Background: The Human papillomavirus (HPV)-related Oropharyngeal and Uncommon Cancers Screening Trial of Men (HOUSTON) was designed to determine the prevalence of IgG antibodies to HPV type 16 E proteins (HPV16EAbs), to screen for persistence of HPV and/or detect HPV-related premalignancies and cancers, and to assess acceptance of screening among middle-aged men.
Methods: HOUSTON consists of a cross-sectional study and a longitudinal cohort study of men aged 50-64 years. Serologic HPV16EAb status and oral rinse HPV16 status were determined.

Methods: This study included newly diagnosed patients with OPC, who had been treated with radiation and were alive without recurrence 5 years after diagnosis.
Background: Despite the significant societal burden of human papillomavirus (HPV)-associated cancers, clinical screening interventions for HPV-associated noncervical cancers are not available. Blood-based biomarkers may help close this gap in care.
Methods: Five databases were searched, 5687 articles were identified, and 3631 unique candidate titles and abstracts were independently reviewed by 2 authors; 702 articles underwent a full-text review.
The role of microbes in sustaining agricultural plant growth has great potential consequences for human prosperity. Yet we have an incomplete understanding of the basic function of rhizosphere microbial communities and how they may change under future stresses, let alone how these processes might be harnessed to sustain or improve crop yields. A reductionist approach may aid the generation and testing of hypotheses that can ultimately be translated to agricultural practices.
