Assessment of Mental Health Comorbidities and Relief Factors in Moroccan Women during the Third Trimester of Pregnancy: A Cross-Sectional Study.

Background: During pregnancy, women can experience mental alterations, particularly anxiety and depression, which mark an important transition period in their lives. Social support appears to be a crucial alleviating factor for these disorders. The aim of this study is to assess the extent of psychological disturbances and their relieving factors by investigating correlations between mental status and different sociodemographic and clinical characteristics during the third trimester of pregnancy.

Genetic analysis based on 15 autosomal short tandem repeats (STRs) in the Chaouia population, western center Morocco, and genetic relationships with worldwide populations.

The complex demographic history of human populations in North Africa has resulted in a high degree of genetic heterogeneity across the region. However, little is known about the pattern of these genetic variations in its current populations. The present study provides new data on the genetic background of Chaouia, an Arabic-speaking North African population in the western center of Morocco.

Genetic characterization of the Berber-speaking population of Souss (Morocco) based on autosomal STRs.

Background: The Souss, located in southern Morocco, is one of the oldest areas of human settlement in North Africa. Despite this historical relevance, the Souss has not received sufficient attention in terms of population genetic studies.

Methods: In this study, we utilized the AmpFlSTR Identifiler PCR amplification system to establish the allelic frequencies and statistical parameters of 15 autosomal STRs (Short Tandem Repeats) in 150 healthy unrelated Berber-speaking individuals from the Souss.

Ischemic Cholangiopathy Following Transcatheter Arterial Chemoembolization for Recurrent Hepatocellular Carcinoma After Hepatectomy: an Underestimated and Devastating Complication.

Background: Ischemic cholangiopathy (IC) has a known poor prognosis. However, the risks and outcomes of this complication after transcatheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE) in hepatectomized patients are poorly documented. This study aimed to evaluate the incidence of and to identify the predictive factors for IC following TACE for recurrent hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) after hepatectomy.

[Cutaneous manifestations in hemodialysis patients].

Background: Hemodialysis patients have frequent and various cutaneous manifestations of often hypothetical pathogenesis. Chronic renal failure (CRF) presents with an array of cutaneous manifestations. The objective was to evaluate the prevalence and nature of cutaneous lesions associated with CRF patients on hemodialysis patients.

[Assessment of cardiac function by magnetic resonance and multislice spiral computed tomography].

Magnetic resonance imaging and multislice spiral computed tomography are ideal techniques for assessing cardiac function. The main objectives of this article are to describe the different aspects, global and regional systolic left ventricular function, diastolic left ventricular function and right ventricular function, and to introduce the agreed parameters for this evaluation.

[Myometrium diseases].

Leiomyoma and adenomyosis are the most frequent myometrial disorders, followed by cystic and vascular disorders. After an update on the anatomy, physiology and histology of the myometrium, the authors will describe the normal sonographic and MRI aspects of the uterus. The pathology of leiomyoma will be recalled, and the various forms of myoma encountered during Doppler US, hysterography, hysterosonography, MRI and computed tomography will be described.
