The biofouling adhering to underwater facilities has a negative impact on the environment, energy, and economic development. However, conventional anti-adhesion organic silicon and organic fluorine materials often have poor adhesion properties and mechanical stability when combined with substrates. This work presents a novel strategy for preparing composite antifouling coatings that low surface energy plant-based carnauba wax (CW) covering through rough substrates and chemically bond with flexible polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) oligomers or polymers.

Superhydrophobic surfaces provide an effective approach but suffer from phase change-induced wetting transitions, hindering their practical applications. In this work, Biphilic armored superhydrophobic surfaces (BASS) are designed by integrating hydrophilic interconnected surface frames with superhydrophobic nanostructures.

Functionalization of the inner wall of the nanochannel enhances interaction with ions and fluid but restricts versatile chemical approaches and accurate characterizations of fluidic interfaces. Herein, we reveal a responsive regulating mechanism of ion transport through nanochannels by polydopamine (PDA)-induced functionalization on the macroscopic outer surface of nanochannels.

The success or failure of ITER will greatly affect the commercialization process of fusion energy. The probabilistic safety assessment (PSA) was a powerful means to evaluate the risk and reliability of nuclear facility and achieved great success in safety assessment of fission power plants.

Two critical challenges, however, remain in the practical application of slippery coatings consisting of liquid lubricants: (1) universality regardless of roughness and chemical composition of substrates, (2) stability of surface lubricity against evaporation. Herein, a chemical method is reported to create a universal and stable slippery lubricant-adhesive cooperated coating (SLACC) through acid catalyzed dehydration reaction between the phenolic hydroxyl of polydopamine (PDA), with universal (for challenge-1) and strong (for challenge-2) adhesion properties, and liquid-like polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS), with lubricant properties.

(Gentianaceae) (WVBF) on serious hepatic toxicity induced in mice treated with Diels (Ranunculaceae) at transcriptome level. The physiological and pathological symptoms were evaluated as the markers for hepato toxicity induced by Diels (CFA) extracted compounds.

Functionalizations of solid-state ion nanochannels/nanopores by biomolecules pave a wide way for the introduction of varied properties from biomolecules to solid-state ion nanochannels/nanopores, making them smart in response to analytes or external stimuli and regulating the transport of ions/molecules. In this review, two features for nanochannels/nanopores functionalized by biomolecules are abstracted, i.

However, most interest has been focused on the contribution from the functional elements (FEs) at the inner wall (IW) of nanochannels, whereas little attention has been paid to the contribution from the FEs at the nanochannels' outer surface (OS). Herein, we achieve explicit partition of FE and FE based on accurate regional-modification of OS and IW.

The nascent quantum state distributions of the CsH product resulting from the reaction Cs(6D5/2) with Hz were determined using a laser pump-probe technique in a five-arm crossed heat-pipe oven. Cs-H2 mixture was irradiated with pulses of 885.4 nm radiation from a OPO laser, populating 6D5/2 state by two-photon absosption.

At a Li density of approximately 10(13) cm(-3), the lithium vapor was irradiated in a five-arm stainless steel heat pipe oven containing Li and H2 with pulses of radiation from a N2-laser-pumped dye laser, populating Li(2P) state by the Li(2S-->2P) resonance transition at 670.8 nm. Typical operating pressure of H2 was 60-300 Pa.
