Objective: The Response Evaluation Criteria In Solid Tumors (RECIST) is the most used radiological method for evaluating response after peptide receptor radionuclide therapy (PRRT) in patients with neuroendocrine tumors. This method may give too positive estimates of response in slow growing tumors as it allows a substantial increase in tumor size before patients are classified as having progressive disease. We wanted to compare RECIST with a conventional method in routine use for estimating treatment effect based on defining any unequivocal increase in size of tumor load as progressive disease.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate treatment response and complications of transarterial chemoembolization using drug-eluting beads loaded with irinotecan (DEBIRI) in patients with liver metastases from uveal melanoma (UM).

Materials And Methods: Patients treated with DEBIRI (n = 14) were retrospectively analyzed regarding overall survival, compared to patients (n = 14) treated with intravenous dacarbazine (DTIC). Median overall survival was calculated from time of diagnosis of metastatic disease (OS1) and start of treatment (OS2).

Introduction. Most surgeons prefer Roux-en-Y hepaticojejunostomy (RYHJ) for biliary reconstruction following a common bile duct (CBD) injury. However, in patients with a Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RYGB) a RYHJ may be technically challenging and can interfere with bowel physiology induced by RYGB.
