Background/aims: Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) is an essential diagnostic and therapeutic method for pancreato-biliary disorders in adults, but its use in pediatric populations remains limited. This study aims to evaluate the indications, technical success, and safety of ERCP in pediatric patients.
Materials And Methods: A retrospective analysis of all ERCP procedures performed on patients under 18 years of age was conducted at 2 tertiary centers in Türkiye (Harran University and Gaziantep University Hospital) during the period between January 2013 and May 2024.
Theranostic agents hold great promise for personalized medicine by combining diagnostic and therapeutic functions. Herein, two novel multifunctional theranostic glyconanoprobes targeting breast cancer were engineered for synergistic dual chemo-gene therapy and triple chemo-gene-photothermal therapy. Upconversion nanoparticles (UCNPs) were prepared and coated with a Dox-loaded glycopeptide polymer (P-Dox) to form UCNP@P-Dox for improving stability.

Objective: To evaluate the oncologic outcomes of de-escalating axillary surgery among patients with clinically node (cN)-positive breast cancer and patients whose disease became cN negative after NAC (ycN negative).
Design, Setting, And Participants: In the NEOSENTITURK MF-1803 prospective cohort registry trial, patients from 37 centers with cT1-4N1-3M0 disease treated with sentinel lymph node biopsy (SLNB) or targeted axillary dissection (TAD) alone or with ypN-negative or ypN-positive disease after NAC were recruited between February 15, 2019, and January 1, 2023, and evaluated.
Background: This study aims to identify factors predicting recurrence and unfavorable prognosis in cN+ patients who have undergone sentinel lymph node biopsy (SLNB) following neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC).
Methods: The retrospective multi-centre "MF18-02" and the prospective multi-centre cohort registry trial "MF18-03" (NCT04250129) included patients with cT1-4N1-3M0 with SLNB+/- axillary lymph node dissection (ALND) post-NAC.
Results: A total of 2407 cN+ patients, who later achieved cN0 status after NAC and subsequently underwent SLNB, were studied.
Virgin olive oil (VOO) quality is defined by both chemical and sensory parameters. While the chemical parameters are objective and measured using instrument-based methods, sensory quality evaluation is based upon human panels, which can be subjective, have less repeatability, suffer from fatigue, and require long and costly training. Tasting biases could be minimized by a trained panel, but using humans as a testing instrument is inevitably prone to various psychological biases, stimulus-related factors, and carry-over effects.

Although current cancer therapeutics have made considerable advancements, there is still room for improvement in terms of efficacy. Many anticancer drugs have a risk of causing serious adverse effects due to their nonspecific cytotoxic effects on both tumor and healthy cells.

We aimed to investigate whether the COVID-19 pandemic caused a delay in the hospital admissions of breast cancer patients and diagnosis of breast cancer, thus increasing the tumor size and the stage of the disease. Materials and methods Included in the study were patients who underwent breast cancer surgery between 01/03/2019 and 01/03/2020 (pre-COVID-19, first period) and between 01/03/2020 and 01/03/2021 (post-COVID-19, second period).

Age-matched female patients with SSc (n = 50), SLE (n = 49), and BS (n = 54), along with 52 female HCs were included in this study between April and October, 2021. Sociodemographic features were recorded, and psychometric tests, i.

Roots absorb water and minerals from the soil, enabling vegetative development that directly affects yield, as vigorous plants have more resources to support reproduction. Moreover, healthy foliage is a primary key to high assimilation rates, leading to better production of photosynthetic products, including cannabinoids and terpenes, which are the main active components of cannabis.

Patients who underwent parathyroidectomy for secondary hyperparathyroidism between June 2010 and September 2021 were analyzed retrospectively. The patients were divided into two groups: those who underwent total parathyroidectomy (group 1) and those who underwent subtotal parathyroidectomy (group 2).

However, there is a need for more effective alternatives when sorafenib proves insufficient. In this study, we aimed to design a structure that surpasses sorafenib's efficacy, leading us to synthesize sorafenib-ruthenium complexes for the first time and investigate their properties.

This study was conducted to provide data on the amount of acrylamide (AA) in 270 heat-treated carbohydrate-rich foods in Turkey, determined by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). A total of 270 samples were analysed and it was found that 85% of potato chips, 80% of biscuits, 85% of cakes, 80% of bread, 80% of roasted peanuts, 80% of roasted nuts and 85% of pretzels contained AA above the limit of quantification (LOQ). Analytical results indicated that 10 corn chips samples, 4 biscuits samples, all bread samples, all wheat bread samples, 2 dried bread samples and 1 pretzel sample contained AA levels above the benchmark levels of 150, 350, 50, 50, 300 and 300 µg/kg, respectively, as set by the European Commission.

Although jojoba () has been cultivated for years, information on its N requirements is limited. A 6-year study of mature jojoba plants grown under field conditions with an intensive management regime evaluated the effect of N application rate on plant nutrient status, growth, and productivity, and nitrate accumulation in the soil. Five levels of N application were tested: 50, 150, 250, 370, and 500 kg N ha.

Such lymphadenopathy detected during clinical examination of breast cancer patients may require additional imaging or interventional procedures that should not normally be performed. This study has been designed to estimate the incidence of palpable enlarged axillary lymph node in breast cancer patients who had received COVID-19 vaccination in the past 3 months in the same arm as compared to those without vaccination.
