Background: To assess the impact of laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy (LSG) on gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) symptoms and to determine factors associated with the occurrence of post-LSG GERD symptoms.
Material And Methods: This is a retrospective study that included all obese patients who underwent LSG in Aseer Central Hospital, during the period from August 2017 to August 2019. GERD-Health-Related Quality of Life questionnaire was used to assess the patients' pre- and postoperative GERD symptoms and their satisfaction toward their general health.
We describe a case of right ilio-psoas abscess caused by stump appendicitis 14 years after open appendectomy. Stump appendicitis is a rare complication of appendectomy. Right ilio-psoas abscess was diagnosed in an immune-competent patient and treated by ultrasound guided percutaneous drainage twice without identifying the cause of the abscess.
