Article Synopsis
  • The study examined long-term outcomes of thrombus removal methods in patients with acute left iliofemoral vein thrombosis and left iliac vein compression.
  • It involved 240 patients divided into two main groups: those receiving just anticoagulation and those receiving anticoagulation plus pharmacomechanical catheter-directed thrombolysis (PCDT), with further subgroups for specific methods.
  • Results indicated that the PCDT group had a significantly lower incidence of post-thrombotic syndrome and better clinical scores compared to the anticoagulation-only group, with the percutaneous mechanical thrombectomy (PMT) subgroup showing the most favorable outcomes.
