Benfuracarb is widely utilized for crop protection due to its effective pest control properties; however, little information is available regarding its adverse effects and possible molecular mechanisms in fish development. In the present study, benfuracarb exposure caused defects in the development and inflation of the swim bladder, as well as in the lipid metabolism of zebrafish larvae. Compared with the control, key genes involved in swim bladder development, lipid metabolism, surfactant proteins and autophagy were altered in response to benfuracarb exposure.

Exposure to the estrogenic pollutant bisphenol A (BPA) during pregnancy and early childhood is a risk factor for numerous neurodevelopmental and psychiatric disorders in humans. To understand why early BPA exposure is associated with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and autism spectrum disorder (ASD), we have analyzed a series of zebrafish behaviors, neurodevelopmental process, and gene expression profiles, after a moderate level of estrogen (17β-estradiol, E, as a positive control) and BPA treatments during embryogenesis (2-48 h post fertilization). E exposure-caused hyperactivity was likely due to elevated expression of cyp19a1b since blocking aromatase activity rescued the defect.

Background: Bisphenol F (BPF), a substitute for bisphenol A (BPA), is widely used in consumer products, increasing the potential for environmental exposure. Our study investigated the reproductive effects of BPF on adult male zebrafish and explored its toxicological mechanisms, as well as its intergenerational effects.
Methods: Adult male zebrafish were exposed to BPF concentrations of 0, 50, 500, 2500, and 5000 nM for 21 days.

To explore the patterns of differentially expressed genes (DEGs) associated with different growth rates in rock carp (Procypris rabaudi), transcriptome sequencing was performed on the muscle, liver, and brain tissues of rock carp. Subsequently, bioinformatics analysis was conducted, and 2129, 1380, and 415 DEGs were identified in the muscle, liver, and brain tissues, respectively. GO enrichment and KEGG pathway analysis revealed that genes related to appetite regulation, protein degradation and digestion, lipid transport and metabolisms, and glycolysis/gluconeogenesis were upregulated in individuals with slower growth rates.
