Background And Aims: Dendritic cells (DCs) are closely related to blood pressure (BP) regulation. Mineralocorticoid receptor (MR) is an important drug target for antihypertensive treatment. However, the role of DC MR in the pathogenesis of hypertension has not been fully elucidated.

We demonstrate the safety and efficacy of low-dose spironolactone in the management of IgAN patients.
Methods: Adult IgAN patients treated with spironolactone were evaluated.
This study presents two cases of type II mixed cryoglobulinemia. One case is essential, while the other is presumably associated with hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection. Both patients tested positive for monoclonal IgMκ, but negative for MyD88 mutation.

Introduction: There are increasing case reports on de novo or relapsing IgA nephropathy (IgAN) following SARS-CoV-2 vaccines, although the follow-up information on renal outcomes in IgAN patients post-SARS-CoV-2 vaccination is limited. In this study, we evaluated the renal outcomes of IgAN patients following inactivated vaccines.
Methods: We investigated the change in eGFR, proteinuria and hematuria in 113 primary IgAN patients post-vaccination.
To determine risk factors affecting renal recovery in newly diagnosed multiple myeloma (NDMM) patients with renal impairment (RI) and establish a risk nomogram. This multi-center, retrospective cohort study included 187 NDMM patients with RI, 127 of whom were admitted to Huashan Hospital and assigned to the training cohort and 60 were admitted to Changzheng Hospital and assigned to the external validation cohort. The baseline data of the 2 cohorts were compared, and survival and renal recovery rates were analyzed.

The study aimed to investigate the role of fibrinogen in left ventricular (LV) remodeling and functions in patients on PD, and explore risk factors related to high fibrinogen level.
Methods: From February 2008 to July 2018, adult patients on regular PD for at least 1 month were recruited and followed up for two years.
Accumulating evidence indicates that the extracellular matrix (ECM) is not only a consequence of fibrosis, but also contributes to the progression of fibrosis, by creating a profibrotic microenvironment. Tenascin-C (TNC) is an ECM glycoprotein that contains multiple functional domains. We showed that following kidney injury, TNC was markedly induced in fibrotic areas in the kidney from both mouse models and humans with kidney diseases.

Fetuin-A, encoded by the alpha 2-Heremans-Schmid glycoprotein (AHSG) gene, is a serum calcification inhibitor. The study aimed to examine the role of AHSG gene polymorphism rs4918 in CAC and CAC progression of PD patients.

The study aimed to investigate the prognostic significance of left ventricular mass index (LVMI)-progression in incident peritoneal dialysis (PD) patients, and explore risks factors for LVMI-progression.

A decrease in haemoglobin (Hb) levels was observed during the initial stage of the conversion from ESA to roxadustat. The study aims to investigate the effectiveness and safety of adding roxadustat to an ESA for the treatment of ESA-hyporesponsive anaemia in patients on peritoneal dialysis (PD).

Multiple organ dysfunction is a complex and lethal clinical feature with heterogeneous causes and is usually characterized by tissue injury of multiple organs. Tenascin-C (TNC) is a matricellular protein that is rarely expressed in most of the adult tissues, but re-induced following injury. This study aimed to evaluate serum TNC in predicting mortality in critically ill patients with multiple organ dysfunction.

Objectives: This study aims to investigate the association between -55C/T polymorphism of uncoupling protein 3 (UCP3) gene and the risk of NOD in PD patients.
Background: Ambulatory blood pressure monitoring is the gold standard for the diagnosis of hypertension, but its effects on all-cause mortality and cardiovascular outcomes in peritoneal dialysis (PD) patients remain uncertain. We aimed to investigate the association between ambulatory blood pressure and clinical outcomes in PD patients.
Methods: A prospective, observational cohort study was conducted in PD patients enrolled from March 2001 to July 2018 and followed until October 2019.
Aim: Atherosclerosis has been reported as a risk factor for cardiovascular disease in the general population. As a phenotype of atherosclerosis, carotid plaque and its influence factors are rarely discussed among dialysis patients. The study aimed to investigate the prognosis-predictive significance of carotid plaques in patients on peritoneal dialysis (PD), and explore risks factors for carotid plaque presence.

Methods: IgA nephropathy was identified from the renal biopsies of 108 adult patients enrolled in our study with 60 healthy controls.
Biological synapses store and process information simultaneously by tuning the connection between two neighboring neurons. Such functionality inspires the task of hardware implementation of neuromorphic computing systems. Ionic/electronic hybrid three-terminal memristive devices, in which the channel conductance can be modulated according to the history of applied voltage and current, provide a more promising way of emulating synapses by a substantial reduction in complexity and energy consumption.

However, the risk factors for CAC initiation in peritoneal dialysis (PD) patients are not known clearly. Adult patients with baseline CaCS = 0 and who were followed up for at least 3 years or until the conversion from absent to any measurable CAC detected were included in this observational cohort study.

The molecular mechanism by which the aged kidney becomes more susceptible to acute injury has not been completely elucidated. In this study, we found that, compared with the kidneys of 3-month-old mice, the kidneys of 20-month-old mice expressed reduced levels of the renal protective molecule sirtuin 1 (SIRT1) and its cofactor NAD Supplementation with nicotinamide mononucleotide (NMN), an NAD precursor, restored renal SIRT1 activity and NAD content in 20-month-old mice and further increased both in 3-month-old mice.

Methods: Adult patients who received regular PD for more than 6 months and underwent a series of coronary artery calcification score (CaCS) measurements by multislice spiral computed tomography (MSCT) with an interval of ≥ 6 months were included in this observational cohort study.
