In this study, we present the development of an innovative electrochemical biosensor integrated into a microneedle-based system for non-invasive and sensitive quantification of cholesterol levels in interstitial fluid (ISF). The biosensor employs a graphene-based electrode with a polyelectrolyte interlayer to immobilize cholesterol oxidase (ChOx), enabling selective cholesterol detection. Graphene oxide is electrochemically reduced to form a conductive layer, and PANI is chosen as the optimal polyelectrolyte for ChOx immobilization.

Magnetic heterojunction structures with a suppressed interfacial Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction and a sustainable long-range interlayer exchange coupling are achieved with an ultrathin platinum insertion layer. The systematic inelastic light scattering spectroscopy measurements indicate that the insertion layer restores the symmetry of the system and, then, the interfacial Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction, which can prevent the identical magnetic domain wall motions, is obviously minimized. Nevertheless, the strong interlayer exchange coupling of the system is maintained.

Branchiootorenal (BOR) syndrome is a rare autosomal dominant inherited disease with a prevalence of approximately 1 in 40,000 newborns. This disease is characterized by hearing loss, preauricular pits, branchial fistulas or cysts, and renal dysplasia. We discovered a case of BOR syndrome in a premature 2-week-old female infant with a gestational age of 32 weeks and two days.
