Siloxane side chains help to reach record alignment level of PBTTT with dichroic ratio beyond 50 for an optimized rubbing temperature but they impede effective doping of PBTTT crystals with FTCNNQ, resulting in very poor TE properties. By contrast, doping the amorphous phase of all three PBTTTs with magic blue (MB) results in excellent TE performances.

The first one comprises derivatives incorporating hindered aromatic amines in the 4' and 5' positions, which show red-emission in apolar solvents. The second one is obtained through the use of dinucleophiles.

Data based on the site of platelet destruction are scarce. We performed a retrospective single-centre study of adult patients with primary ITP undergoing at least one Indium-111 platelet scintigraphy (IPS) between 2009 and 2018.

In this work, we design and investigate a novel family of side chains containing a single ether function, enabling the modulation of the oxygen atom position along the side chain. A meticulous investigation of this new polymer series by differential scanning calorimetry, fast scanning chip calorimetry and X-ray scattering shows that polymers bearing single-ether side chains can show high degree of crystallinity under proper conditions.

Density Functional Theory (DFT) simulations were employed to derive structural models for lamellar AMnO·HO (A = Na or K, = 0 or 0.66), subsequently compared with the experimental results obtained for NaMnO·0.

Several studies have challenged those recommendations for women with obesity, considering them too liberal and advising more limited weight gain - or even weight loss - during pregnancy to improve maternal and neonatal outcomes. Our aim was to study how gestational weight gain in women with obesity impacted maternal and fetal complications in the Belgian population.

It is associated with metabolic and cardiovascular disorders, as components of the metabolic syndrome (MS). NAFLD is the hepatic manifestation of MS.

The resulting 4-DiMe-ANI displays completely different fluorescence properties, conferring it ability to selectively label lipid droplets in living cells. A comprehensive photophysical study revealed that this selectivity arises from an Internal Charge Transfer favored in lipophilic media to the detriment of a non-emissive TICT in more polar media.

These fluorophores can be obtained in good yields in a single SNAr step of a fluorinated CinNapht derivative by incorporating hindered aromatic amines. They exhibit AIE(E) behavior associated with solid-state fluorescence covering an emission range from 563 to 722 nm.

We demonstrate here the versatility of lanthanide (Ln) complexes with respect to their optical and magnetic properties and their potential for enzymatic detection in NIR luminescence, CEST and T1 MR imaging, controlled by the nature of the Ln ion, while using a unique chelator. Based on X-ray structural, photophysical, and solution NMR investigations of a family of Ln DO3A-pyridine model complexes, we could rationalize the luminescence (Eu, Yb), CEST (Yb) and relaxation (Gd) properties and their variations between carbamate and amine derivatives.

Its spectrum includes hepatic steatosis (HS) and non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) with progression to fibrosis, cirrhosis, and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). NAFLD may represent the hepatic manifestation of the metabolic syndrome (MS), with a prevalence directly proportional to the prevalence of obesity and MS.

To this end, 100% OFF-ON azo-based fluorogenic probes derived from 4-amino-1,8-naphthalimide fluorophores were synthesized and evaluated. The in vitro study conducted with other endogenous reducing agents of the cell, including reductases, demonstrated both the efficacy and the selectivity of the probe for AzoR.

While major advances in cell fate theory have been achieved by these mechanism-focused frameworks, there are some aspects of cell decision-making that require an evolutionary interpretation. While mechanistic biologists sometimes turn to evolutionary theory to gain insights about cell fate (cancer is a good example), it is not entirely clear in cell fate theory what insights evolutionary theory can add, and why in some cases it is required for understanding cell fate.

New housing models have emerged in Europe, Australia, the United States, and Canada. Intended for individuals with neurocognitive disorders, these models are characterized by a philosophy centered on the person, self-determination, liberty of choice, flexibility of care, acceptance of risk, and autonomy. Work and care are organized according to the pace and preferences of residents.

When the temperature bias is corrected, these types of INS are powerful enough to present the periodic signal corresponding to the solid Earth tides.
