Background: Individuals with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) exhibit reduced levels of physical activity, which are associated with poorer outcomes. The number of clinical trials aiming to promote behavioral changes to increase physical activity in this population has grown; therefore, these trials have yet to produce satisfactory results. An ecological model encompassing individual, social, environmental, and political factors represent a potentially more effective approach to promoting physical activity.

Its prevalence increases with age and has a peak incidence at the age of 40. Metastasizing leiomyomas are dense connective tissue and smooth myometrial muscle cells tumors located outside the uterus.

With these professionals and the oral health of this species in mind, we evaluated the skull and the exact location of the infraorbital, mentual and mandibular foramens, with the aim of supporting the anesthetic block for dental procedures in Saimiri collinsi. The infraorbital foramen was located in the maxillary bone and was arranged with one on each side, except in one individual, with a pair in each antimer.

Methods: Quantitative and qualitative study, developed in 14 basic healthcare units in São Paulo, with community health workers, coordinators, nurses, and physicians. Data collection occurred in four phases: analysis of the instruments used by the team for territory management; development of the digital tool; training and implementation; and evaluation after 90 days using focus groups.

Objective: Patients with cancer often undergo multiple extended treatments that decrease their quality of life. However, the quality of life of women with breast cancer after they undergo treatment remains underexplored in Brazil. Therefore, this study determined sociodemographic, behavioral, and clinical factors related to the post-treatment quality of life of women with breast cancer.

Purpose: To determine evidence of concurrent and predictive criterion validity of the Communication Screening Instrument for children aged 0 to 36 months (IRC-36).
Methods: 78 parents/guardians of children who attend the childcare service of the Family Health Centers participated in the research, in addition to 33 children aged between 0 and 36 months, invited to the second stage of the study. In its first stage, 13 health professionals were trained to apply the IRC-36 to the children's parents/guardians.
Background: Psoriasis is associated with several comorbidities and its association with thyroid abnormality has been hypothesized.
Objective: To assess the prevalence of thyroid abnormality in Brazilian patients with psoriasis and to analyze its association with severity, presence of psoriatic arthritis and immunobiological treatment. Additionally, to compare results with literature as a control.
Objectives: to verify the association between authentic leadership and burnout syndrome in Primary Health Care nursing professionals and analyze the relationship between positive psychological capital and burnout syndrome in subordinate nursing professionals.
Methods: a field, descriptive-exploratory, cross-sectional study with a quantitative approach, developed with the nursing team, in Basic Health Units in the city of São Paulo, with the application of the sociodemographic questionnaires, Burnout Characterization Scale [Escala de Caracterização do Burnout], Authentic Leadership Questionnaire and Psychological Capital Questionnaire.
Results: in leaders' perception, there was no evidence of significant associations between burnout and authentic leadership scales.
The weeds are important in agricultural and livestock areas because these plants can cause several damages, especially in the yield. The herbicide pulverization for weed control is the most used, but the efficiency of the control can be dependent the several factors, for example, the correct chose the herbicide and the mixture or not with adjuvant. This study aimed to evaluate the contact angle of herbicide solution droplets associated with adjuvant when deposited on the leaf surface of different weed species and their relationship with chemical control.

There is a strong correlation between antioxidant activity and total anthocyanin and phenolic compound content. Postharvest treatment using ethylene may be a factor affecting the anthocyanin content.

"Rocha" pear fruit harvested at commercial maturity were treated with 1-methylcyclopropene (1-methylcyclopropene, SmartFresh™) and diphenylamine and stored at 0 ℃, 90-95% relative humidity, under normal atmosphere for up to six months or under controlled atmosphere (controlled atmosphere, 3 kPa O2 + 0.

In this study, we hypothesized that an elevated air movement (MOV) 24 h per day, during the whole period of leaf development would increase abscisic acid concentration ([ABA]) enhancing stomatal functioning. Pot rose 'Toril' was grown at moderate (61%) or high (92%) RH combined with a continuous low (0.

The total anthocyanin content did not change immediately, but decreased 24% throughout the yoghurt shelf-life. The individual compounds, (+)-catechin (60%), (-)-epicatechin (60%), kaempferol (33%) and quercetin-3-rutinoside (29%) decreased after 24h in the yoghurt made with the strawberry preparation.

The effect of pH on strawberry polyphenols stored at 4 and 23 °C for 90 days was evaluated. Total antioxidant activity and total phenolics content were only affected by time according to a first order model.

Flavonoids are a large and diverse group of polyphenolic compounds with antioxidant effects. While the flavonoid content and composition profile clearly reflect the genetic background of the cultivar, environmental conditions and agronomic practices are also determinants for the composition of crops at harvest. Considerable research has been directed toward understanding the nature of polyphenols in different products and the factors influencing their accumulation.

Fresh-cut processing enhances ethylene-mediated quality losses. Post-cutting 1-methylcyclopene (1-MCP) application to fresh-cut cantaloupe was evaluated for its effects on quality attributes, phytochemical content and aroma volatiles.

Salinity reduced the growth rate and increased lipid peroxidation in salt-stressed line, which remained unaltered in the adapted line.

We studied the effect of a reciprocal change in RH, at different stages of leaf expansion of Rosa hybrida grown at moderate (60%) or high (95%) RH, on the stomatal closing ability. This was assessed by measuring the leaf transpiration rate in response to desiccation once the leaves had fully expanded.

Autolytic release of uronic acids was very limited under simulated apoplastic conditions compared with the conventional buffer, but minimal differences in the release of reducing groups were observed among the incubation conditions.

We hypothesized that changes in DeltaPp and DeltaPs parallel alterations in stroke volume (SV) and cardiac output (CO) during hemorrhage, shock, and resuscitation. In anesthetized and mechanically ventilated mongrel dogs, a graded hemorrhage (20 mL/min) was induced to a target mean arterial pressure (MAP) of 40 mm Hg, which was maintained for additional 30 min.
