Growing evidence supports a role for dysregulated neuroinflammation in autism. However, the underlying mechanisms of microglia-evoked neuroinflammation in the development of autistic phenotypes have not been elucidated. This study aimed to investigate the role and underlying mechanisms of microglial S100 calcium-binding protein A9 (S100A9) in autistic phenotypes.

Therefore, this systematic review and network meta-analysis aims to evaluate and prioritize various teaching strategies in medical education, including simulation-based learning (SBL), flipped classrooms (FC), problem-based learning (PBL), team-based learning (TBL), case-based learning (CBL), and bridge-in, objective, pre-assessment, participatory learning, post-assessment, and summary (BOPPPS).
Methods: We conducted a comprehensive systematic search of PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, the Cochrane Library, and some key medical education journals up to November 31, 2023.

Context: To investigate how short sleep duration (SSD) during pregnancy is related to neurodevelopmental delays in offspring, we aimed to inform pregnancy sleep guidelines and promote maternal health and child development.
Objective: To identify the associations between SSD during pregnancy and offspring neurodevelopmental delay and to determine whether fetal glucose metabolism plays a role in SSD and neurodevelopmental delays.
Methods: This cohort study followed 7059 mother-child pairs from the Maternal & Infants Health in Hefei cohort, and collected sleep data during pregnancy via the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index at weeks 24 to 28 and 32 to 36.
In recent years, aerosols have been recognized as a prominent medium for the transmission of antibiotic-resistant bacteria and genes. Among these, particles with a particle size of 2 μm (PM) can directly penetrate the alveoli. However, the presence of antibiotic-resistant genes in aerosols from pet hospitals and the potential risks posed by antibiotic-resistant bacteria in these aerosols to humans and animals need to be investigated.

The CHD cardiovascular surgery data collected by the Chinese Society of Extracorporeal Circulation from 2017 to 2021 in 31 provinces (autonomous regions/municipalities) of China were retrospectively reviewed, the implementation of CHD cardiovascular surgery in different provinces, regions, general/specialized hospitals, and different age groups (whether≤18 years old) were summarized, and the correlation analysis between the number of surgeries carried out in each province/region and the gross regional product and the number of the regional population was performed.

However, there is a paucity of longitudinal research investigating the effects of vitamin D supplementation on the brain of MDD patients.
Methods: We conducted a double-blind randomized controlled trial in 46 MDD patients, who were randomly allocated into either VD (antidepressant medication + vitamin D supplementation) or NVD (antidepressant medication + placebos) groups.
A new hydrazone Schiff base ligand was condensed from 2-hydroxy-3-methoxybenzaldehyde and pyrimidine-4-carbohydrazide {HL = ()-'-(2-hydroxy-3-methoxybenzylidene)pyrimidine-4-carbohydrazide}, which was used to assemble two new Dy complexes DyL(DMF)(NO) (1) and DyL(DMF)(AcO) (2). Notably, the coordinated anions have a subtle effect on the coordination configurations of the Dy ions and the magnetic properties of the two Dy complexes. The Dy ions in 1 and 2 have the same NO coordination environment but show the triangular dodecahedron and the biaugmented trigonal prism coordination configurations, respectively.

Sleep efficiency (SE) is a good indicator of early awakening and difficulty falling asleep in MDD patients. Our study aimed to investigate the relationship between sleep efficiency and brain function in MDD patients.

Randomized controlled trial. The clinical data of 64 patients with malignant obstructive jaundice requiring PTCD through the right hepatic duct at the Hepatobiliary Center of the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing Medical University (Jiangsu Province People's Hospital) from December 2018 to December 2021 were retrospectively analyzed.

By using an aggregation-induced-emission-active pyridine-carbohydrazone-based Schiff base ligand and phosphine oxides, four dinuclear and one one-dimensional Dy-based complexes, [Dy(TPE-pc)(BuPO)Cl]·2CHCN·2HO (1), [Dy(TPE-pc)(CyPO)Cl] (2), [Dy(TPE-pc)(MePA)Cl]·2CHOH (3), [Dy(TPE-pc)(PhPO)Cl] (4) and [Dy(TPE-pc)(DPPO)Cl] (5) (HTPE-pc = ()-'-(2-hydroxy-5-(1,2,2-triphenylvinyl)benzylidene)picolinohydrazide, MePA = -phenyl-',''-bis(morpholinyl) phosphoric triamide, DPPO = piperazine-1,4-diylbis(diphenyl phosphine oxide)), were isolated. All complexes are made up of an enol oxygen-bridged Dy unit, where Dy ions possess a pentagonal bipyramidal geometry with pseudo symmetry.

This study aimed to develop and validate a predictive model for sepsis associated acute kidney injury (SA-AKI). In our study, we retrospectively constructed a development cohort comprising 733 septic patients admitted to eight Grade-A tertiary hospitals in Shanghai from January 2021 to October 2022.

However, the neural substrates underlying the percentage of REM sleep duration (REM%) and its association with disease progression in MDD remain unclear.
Methods: One hundred and fourteen MDD patients and 74 healthy controls (HCs) underwent resting-state functional and perfusion magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans as well as overnight polysomnography examination to assess brain function and REM%, with 48 patients completing follow-up visits.
Long noncoding RNAs play important roles in the occurrence and development of many malignant cancers. This study focuses on the effects of LINC01087 on gastric cancer and its underlying mechanism. In the present study, LINC01087 and CAAP1 were found to be upregulated, and miR-135a-5p was diminished in gastric cancer specimens and cells.

However, little is known about the exogenous factors that can trigger the development of antibiotic tolerance, both in vivo and in vitro. Herein, we found that the addition of citric acid, which is used in many fields, obviously weakened the bactericidal activity of antibiotics against various bacterial pathogens.
