Osteonecrosis of the femoral head (ONFH) is a debilitating condition characterized by the death of bone cells in the hip joint, resulting in profound disability. This condition has a significant global prevalence. Glucocorticoid (GC)-induced apoptosis of bone cells serves as a crucial cellular mechanism underlying ONFH.

Metabolic dysfunction-associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD) is also associated with chronic low-grade inflammation, which drives disease progression via metabolic imbalances and adipose tissue dysfunction. This study investigates the relationship between inflammatory indices and MAFLD in hypertensive patients and assesses the predictive accuracy of these indices for MAFLD.

This study aimed to investigate the longitudinal association between baseline PAC and arterial stiffness progression in hypertensive patients.
Patients And Methods: This was a longitudinal study conducted at the Hypertension Center of People's Hospital of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region between April 2020 and October 2023.
Background: The influence of serum uric acid (SUA) on bone metabolism, as suggested by previous studies, remains a contentious issue. SUA plays a complex role in bone health and hypertension, making it challenging to discern its impact on the skeletal status of middle-aged and elderly hypertensive patients. This study aims to elucidate the effects of SUA on bone health, with a particular focus on its association with osteoporosis and the risk of fractures.

Efficient delivery of biomolecules such as DNA, RNA, and proteins into plant cells is essential for targeted crop improvements, yet traditional methods face significant barriers. This review discusses the multifaceted challenges of biomolecule delivery into plant cells, emphasizing the limitations of conventional methods.

Herein, we leverage theoretical calculations to demonstrate that tungsten nitride (WN) can intricately modulate the electronic structure of Pt. This modulation optimizes the hydrogen adsorption, significantly boosting HOR activity, and simultaneously weakens the CO adsorption, markedly improving resistance to CO poisoning.

The Cox regression model was employed to assess the correlation between baseline WWI measurements and the incidence of stroke. To further elucidate the shape of the association between baseline WWI and stroke, restricted cubic splines were employed.

Methods: We analyzed data from 41,131 hospitalized patients from January 1, 2014, to December 31, 2023. Multivariate logistic regression models tested associations, with threshold, subgroup, and sensitivity analyses conducted to validate findings.
Modulating the electronic structure of catalysts to effectively couple the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) and oxygen evolution reaction (OER) is essential for developing high-efficiency anion exchange membrane water electrolyzer (AEMWE). Herein, a coral-like nanoarray composed of nanosheets through the synergistic layering effect of cobalt and the 1D guiding of vanadium is synthesized, which promotes extensive contact between the active sites and electrolyte. The HER and OER activities can be enhanced by modulating the electronic structure through nitridation and phosphorization, respectively, enhancing the strength of metal-H bond to optimize hydrogen adsorption and facilitating the proton transfer to improve the transformation of oxygen-containing intermediates.

Background: Prior research has highlighted the association between uric acid (UA) and the activation of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (RAAS). However, the specific relationship between aldosterone, the RAAS's end product, and UA-related diseases remains poorly understood. This study aims to clarify the impact of aldosterone on the development and progression of hyperuricemia and gout in hypertensive patients.

Methods: The Web of Science, PubMed, and Embase databases were searched for relevant publications until March 2024. All studies evaluating the efficacy of local antibiotic delivery systems in patients with DFO were included.
Background: Protein misfolding and aggregation can lead to various diseases. Recent studies have shed light on the aggregated protein in breast cancer pathology, which suggests that it is crucial to design chemical sensors that visualize protein aggregates in breast cancer, especially in clinical patient-derived samples. However, most reported sensors are constrained in cultured cell lines.

Given the known synergistic effects of hypertension and obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) on cardiovascular risk, we aimed to explore the relationship between the WWI and CVD risk specifically within this high-risk cohort.
Methods: A total of 2265 participants with hypertension and OSA were included in the study.
Introduction: Preeclampsia (PE) is a pregnancy-specific complication. Its etiology and pathogenesis remain unclear. Previous studies have shown that neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) cause placental dysfunction and lead to PE.

However, the relationship between plasma aldosterone concentrations (PAC) and bone mineral density (BMD) in middle-aged and elderly hypertensive patients remains unclear. Therefore, this study sought to investigate the relationship between PAC levels and BMD and explore PAC's potential impact on osteoporosis and future fracture risk in hypertensive patients.

Through early-stage screening, long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) X-inactive specific transcript (XIST) was found to be correlated with the R-CHOP treatment response. This study aimed to clarify the characteristics of XIST in ABC-DLBCL.
