Predictive Factors of Dental Implant Failure: A Retrospective Study Using Decision Tree Regression.

Introduction: Dental implants are routinely used to replace missing teeth. Therefore, the primary aim of the present study was to assess the single-unit implant failure rate over a period of seven years from 2015 to 2021, with a minimum of two years post-implant follow-up. The secondary aim was to identify the risk factors associated with implant failure using machine learning decision tree regression and Kaplan-Meier survival analyses.

An FMRI meta-analysis of interoception in eating disorders.

Eating Disorders (EDs) are associated with disturbed interoception - the sense of the internal condition of the body. Disturbances in interoception across senses have not yet been comprehensively examined in EDs. To do so, we employed an innovative Bayesian author-topic model approach to fMRI meta-analyses that pools together neural deficits across interoceptive senses and task types in participants with and recovered from EDs.

The Impact of Family-Based Treatment for Adolescent Anorexia Nervosa on Compulsive Exercise Attitudes and Behaviors.

Objective: While Family-based treatment for anorexia nervosa (FBT-AN) is effective for weight restoration and improvement in eating-related cognitions, its effect on exercise attitudes and behaviors is little studied. Compulsive exercise is common in AN and often challenging to change.

Method: This secondary analysis examined changes in attitudes toward compulsive exercise (Compulsive Exercise Test-CET) and behaviors (Eating Disorder Examination-EDE) using data from a randomized clinical trial testing an adjunctive treatment for adolescents with AN who failed to gain 2.

In this review, the authors provide an update on the understanding of anorexia nervosa (AN) across the lifespan. Focusing on key pieces of literature from the past 5 years, this review summarizes recent updates to within the domain of AN, including the addition of a new AN diagnosis: atypical anorexia. Additional sections covered in this review include improvements in the epidemiological understanding of AN across the developmental spectrum, treatment approaches that have been established as gold standard as well as new directions recently explored in treatment, and recent advancements in the biopsychosocial underpinnings of AN.

Blended Tele-mentoring Support for Strengthening Antenatal Care by Private Health care Facilities: FOGSI VISTRIT INITIATIVE.

Introduction: The objective of the present initiative was to build capacity of health care providers in private sector along with standardisation of care during antenatal period for common antenatal problems of GDM and iron deficiency anaemia in private sector.

Methods: A pilot project for all levels of health care providers including doctors, nurses, counsellors and laboratory technicians of 34 private facilities in six districts of Jharkhand was planned. Training modules for GDM and anaemia based on government of India guidelines were developed.

A2/A2B Deceased Donor Kidney Transplantation Using A2 Titers Improves Access to Kidney Transplantation: A Single-Center Study.

Rationale & Objective: The option for A2/A2B deceased donor kidney transplantation was integrated into the kidney allocation system in 2014 to improve access for B blood group waitlist candidates. Despite excellent reported outcomes, center uptake has remained low across the United States. Here, we examined the effect of implementing an A2/A2B protocol using a cutoff titer of ≤1:8 for IgG and ≤1:16 for IgM on blood group B kidney transplant recipients at a single center.

Case Series: Efficacy of Polyclonal Intravenous Immunoglobulin for Refractory Infection.

Background: Intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIg) for infection (CDI) no longer features in treatment guidelines. However, IVIg is still used by some clinicians for severe or recurrent CDI (rCDI) cases. As these errors vary at different departments, this study was conducted to determine the 3-dimensional PTV (PTV) margins for head and neck cancer (HNC) at our center. The same was also estimated from reported studies for a comparative assessment.

Exploration of interoceptive capabilities in avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder and anorexia nervosa.

Objective: This proof-of-concept study explores the role of aberrant interoception as a possible mechanism underlying restrictive eating symptoms in avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID) compared to anorexia nervosa (AN) and healthy comparisons (HC).

Method: We report preliminary normative adolescent interoceptive data in HCs (n = 100) compared to adolescents with ARFID (n = 30) and AN (N = 23). Adolescents (12-18) participated in a one-time virtual visit to assess heartrate guessing accuracy (interoceptive accuracy), correlation between confidence in heartrate guess and accuracy (interoceptive awareness), and self-reported interoception (interoceptive sensibility).

Women's empowerment and attitudes towards female genital mutilation abandonment in Nigeria: A cross-sectional analysis of the Nigeria demographic health survey.

Female genital mutilation (FGM) is a human rights violation that impacts the social, physical, psychological, sexual, and gynecological wellbeing of women and girls. Even so, FGM persists in many Nigerian communities. Using data from the 2018 Nigeria Demographic and Health Survey, we investigated the association between women's empowerment and attitudes towards FGM abandonment.

MicroRNA-based therapeutics for inflammatory disorders of the microbiota-gut-brain axis.

An emerging but less explored shared pathophysiology across microbiota-gut-brain axis disorders is aberrant miRNA expression, which may represent novel therapeutic targets. miRNAs are small, endogenous non-coding RNAs that are important transcriptional repressors of gene expression. Most importantly, they regulate the integrity of the intestinal epithelial and blood-brain barriers and serve as an important communication channel between the gut microbiome and the host.
