Electroreduction of CO to valuable chemicals powered by renewable electricity provides a sustainable approach to reduce the environmental issues originating from CO emission. However, insufficient current density and production selectivity hinder its further application. In this case, precisely regulating the CO reduction reaction (CORR) active sites is an excellent strategy to simultaneously reduce the reaction barrier and suppress the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) pathway.

Hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection remains a major health problem worldwide. Sufficient maintenance of the HBV covalently closed circular DNA (cccDNA), which serves as a template for HBV transcription, is responsible for the failure of antiviral therapies. While accumulating evidence suggests that cccDNA transcription is regulated by epigenetic machinery, particularly the acetylation and methylation of cccDNA-bound histone 3 (H3) and histone 4 (H4), the potential contributions of histone succinylation and related host factors remain obscured.

Article Synopsis
  • The study aimed to assess the long-term outcomes and mortality risk factors in patients with acute STEMI who also had a chronic total occlusion (CTO) in a non-infarct-related artery (IRA).
  • The analysis involved 323 patients, divided into CTO (97) and non-CTO (236) groups, focusing on major adverse cardiovascular and cerebrovascular events (MACCE) over time.
  • Key findings highlighted that the CTO group had significantly higher mortality rates, with age 65+, presence of CTO, higher in-hospital Killip class, renal insufficiency, and stress ulcers being major independent predictors of long-term mortality.

Signaling by the phytohormone abscisic acid (ABA) involves pre-mRNA splicing, a key process of post-transcriptional regulation of gene expression. However, the regulatory mechanism of alternative pre-mRNA splicing in ABA signaling remains largely unknown. We previously identified a pentatricopeptide repeat protein SOAR1 (suppressor of the ABAR-overexpressor 1) as a crucial player downstream of ABAR (putative ABA receptor) in ABA signaling.
