Introduction: Learning health networks (LHNs) improve clinical outcomes by applying core tenets of continuous quality improvements (QI) to reach community-defined outcomes, data-sharing, and empowered interdisciplinary teams including patients and caregivers. LHNs provide an ideal environment for the rapid adoption of evidence-based guidelines and translation of research and best practices at scale. When an LHN is established, it is critical to understand the needs of all stakeholders.

Introduction: Pancreatic adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is a challenging disease, with outcomes influenced by several factors including socioeconomic status. The area deprivation index (ADI) has been used to understand how neighborhood disadvantages affect healthcare outcomes. The p53 tumor suppressor is an indispensable regulator of DNA damage responses that accelerates carcinogenesis when mutated. In this report, we uncover a new mechanism by which p53 maintains genomic integrity in the absence of canonical DNA damage response activation. Specifically, loss of p53 dramatically alters chromatin structure at the nuclear periphery, allowing increased transmission of an environmental carcinogen, ultraviolet (UV) radiation, into the nucleus.

The scarcity of malignant Hodgkin and Reed-Sternberg cells hampers tissue-based comprehensive genomic profiling of classic Hodgkin lymphoma (cHL). By contrast, liquid biopsies show promise for molecular profiling of cHL due to relatively high circulating tumour DNA (ctDNA) levels. Here we show that the plasma representation of mutations exceeds the bulk tumour representation in most cases, making cHL particularly amenable to noninvasive profiling.

Background: Through our work, we have demonstrated how clinical decision support (CDS) tools integrated into the electronic health record (EHR) assist providers in adopting evidence-based practices. This requires confronting technical challenges that result from relying on the EHR as the foundation for tool development; for example, the individual CDS tools need to be built independently for each different EHR.
