Background: Human dermal fibroblasts (HDFs) are essential in the processes of skin ageing and wound healing. However, the underlying mechanism of HDFs in skin healing of the elderly has not been well defined. This study aims to elucidate the mechanisms of HDFs senescence and how senescent HDFs affect wound healing in aged skin.

Pharmacokinetic/LDL-C and exposure-response analysis of tafolecimab in Chinese hypercholesterolemia patients: Results from phase I, II, and III studies.

Tafolecimab, a novel fully human monoclonal antibody targeting PCSK9, has been assessed in Chinese healthy volunteers and patients with hypercholesterolemia. This analysis is to develop and qualify a population pharmacokinetics (PopPKs)/LDL-C model to characterize tafolecimab PK and LDL-C profiles, evaluate the impact of potential covariates on tafolecimab, estimate individual predicted exposure, and LDL-C decreasing, furthermore, explore exposure-response relationship to support clinical use. Data from six clinical trials in China were used to develop the PopPK/LDL-C model.

Herein, we present a novel method for effective on-chip droplet generation, splitting and switching via controllable hydrodynamics. The microchannel of the designed chip has 6 inlets and 3 three outlets.

Negative-Pressure Isolation Mask for Endoscopic Examination During the Coronavirus Disease 2019 Pandemic: A Randomized Controlled Trial.

Introduction: During the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, endoscopists have high risks of exposure to exhaled air from patients during gastroscopy. To minimize this risk, we transformed the oxygen mask into a fully closed negative-pressure gastroscope isolation mask. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness, safety, and feasibility of use of this mask during gastroscopy.

PARP Inhibition Elicits STING-Dependent Antitumor Immunity in Brca1-Deficient Ovarian Cancer.

PARP inhibitors have shown promising clinical activities for patients with BRCA mutations and are changing the landscape of ovarian cancer treatment. However, the therapeutic mechanisms of action for PARP inhibition in the interaction of tumors with the tumor microenvironment and the host immune system remain unclear. We find that PARP inhibition by olaparib triggers robust local and systemic antitumor immunity involving both adaptive and innate immune responses through a STING-dependent antitumor immune response in mice bearing Brca1-deficient ovarian tumors.

Background: Few studies have investigated the safe limits of contrast to prevent contrast-induced nephropathy (CIN) based on hydration data. We aimed to investigate the relative safe maximum contrast volume adjusted for hydration volume in a population with a relatively low risk of CIN.

Methods And Results: The ratios of contrast volume-to-creatinine clearance (V/CrCl) and hydration volume to body weight (HV/W) were determined in patients undergoing cardiac catheterization.

Background And Objective: Androgen blockade is the principle strategy in the treatment of advanced prostate cancer. Impaired glucose tolerance often occurs in those patients after androgen blockade. This study was to investigate the correlation of insulin resistance to intermittent androgen blockade (IAB) or continuous androgen blockade, which is also named surgical castration, in patients with advanced prostate cancer.
