Background: Cognitive impairment and alexithymia are commonly associated with schizophrenia and alcohol use disorder independently. Both can lead to poor prognosis and recovery. In patients with dual diagnosis, this association can be more prevalent and severe.

Damage in InGaN/GaN bilayers upon Xe and Pb swift heavy ion irradiation.

350 nm and 550 nm thick InGaN/GaN bilayers were irradiated with different energies (from ∼82 to ∼38 MeV) of xenon (Xe) ions and different fluences of 1.2 GeV lead (Pb) ions, respectively. The radiation effects of the swift heavy ions' (SHIs) bombardment were investigated using Rutherford Backscattering Spectrometry in Channeling mode (RBS/C), X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), and micro-Raman spectroscopy.

In sub-Saharan Africa, oral health is a real epidemiological challenge. Mobile applications represent a hope for the learning of oral hygiene in children and the fight against oral diseases. This study overviews and assesses the quality of mobile applications linked to oral hygiene for children currently featured on the iOS and Android stores in sub-Saharan Africa.

Structure-Activity Relationship Studies of New Sinapic Acid Phenethyl Ester Analogues Targeting the Biosynthesis of 5-Lipoxygenase Products: The Role of Phenolic Moiety, Ester Function, and Bioisosterism.

Sinapic acid is found in many edible plants and fruits, such as rapeseed, where it is the predominant phenolic compound. New sinapic acid phenethyl ester (SAPE) analogues were synthesized and screened as inhibitors of the biosynthesis of 5-lipoxygenase (5-LO) in stimulated HEK293 cells and polymorphonuclear leukocytes (PMNL). Inhibition of leukotriene biosynthesis catalyzed by 5-LO is a validated therapeutic strategy against certain inflammatory diseases and allergies.
