Radio frequency (RF) driven H ion sources are operated at very high power levels of up 100 kW in order to achieve the desired performance. For the experimental setup, these are demanding conditions possibly limiting the source reliability. Therefore, assessing the optimization potential in terms of RF power losses and the RF power transfer efficiency η to the plasma has moved to the focus of both experimental and numerical modeling investigations at particle accelerator and neutral beam heating sources for fusion plasmas.

Organic salts represent an ideal experimental playground for studying the interplay between magnetic and charge degrees of freedom, which has culminated in the discovery of several spin-liquid candidates such as κ-(ET)_{2}Cu_{2}(CN)_{3} (κ-Cu). Recent theoretical studies indicate the possibility of chiral spin liquids stabilized by ring exchange, but the parent states with chiral magnetic order have not been observed in this material family. In this Letter, we discuss the properties of the recently synthesized κ-(BETS)_{2}Mn[N(CN)_{2}]_{3} (κ-Mn).

We examine the impact of sorbitol admixture to the hole-conduction polymer PEDOT:PSS [poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrene sulfonate)] on the characteristics of PEDOT:PSS/crystalline silicon heterojunction solar cells. We fabricate solar cells where the PEDOT:PSS layer is deposited as a hole-collecting contact at the cell rear, whereas the electron-collecting front is conventionally processed by means of phosphorus diffusion. Surprisingly, we observe that the admixture of the infrared-transparent sorbitol not only improves the short-circuit density of the solar cells due to the reduction of the infrared parasitic absorption, but also improves the passivation quality of PEDOT:PSS on silicon and hence the open-circuit voltage of the solar cells.

Background And Purpose: Returning to community mobility is important for people recovering from a stroke, yet few studies have directly measured this construct following inpatient rehabilitation. Using global positioning system (GPS) technology, we examined community mobility of survivors of stroke (SS) over the first year after discharge and compared them to an age-matched comparison group without neurological impairment.

By applying measurements of the dielectric constants and relative length changes to the dimerized molecular conductor κ-(BEDT-TTF)_{2}Hg(SCN)_{2}Cl, we provide evidence for order-disorder type electronic ferroelectricity that is driven by the charge order within the (BEDT-TTF)_{2} dimers and stabilized by a coupling to the anions. According to our density functional theory calculations, this material is characterized by a moderate strength of dimerization. This system thus bridges the gap between strongly dimerized materials, often approximated as dimer-Mott systems at 1/2 filling, and nondimerized or weakly dimerized systems at 1/4 filling, exhibiting a charge order.
