Dry eye disease (DED) is a prevalent inflammatory condition significantly impacting quality of life, yet lacks effective pharmacological therapies. Herein, we proposed a novel approach to modulate the inflammation through metabolic remodeling, thus promoting dry eye recovery. Our study demonstrated that co-treatment with mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) and thymosin beta-4 (Tβ4) yielded the best therapeutic outcome against dry eye, surpassing monotherapy outcomes.

Background: Prostate biopsy is the most common approach for diagnosing prostate cancer (PCa); however, it has inherent limitations, such as the invasive procedure, postoperative complications, and false negative results. We aimed to provide a noninvasive diagnostic strategy for patients with highly suspected PCa and to evaluate the feasibility of performing biopsy-spared radical prostatectomy.
Methods: This prospective study included a total of 57 patients between November 10, 2022, and December 1, 2023.
Primary renal neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) are extremely rare among renal malignancies. According to pathological manifestations, carcinoid can be divided into four types: typical carcinoid, atypical carcinoid, large cell and small cell neuroendocrine carcinoma. Primary or secondary retroperitoneal carcinoid is even rarer than renal carcinoid.

Nevertheless, testing hypotheses on the role of evolutionary novelties in promoting diversification through deep time has proven challenging. Here we unravel the role of the raptorial appendages, with evolutionary novelties for predation, in the macroevolution of a predatory insect lineage, the Superfamily Mantispoidea (mantidflies, beaded lacewings, thorny lacewings, and dipteromantispids), based on a new dated phylogeny and quantitative evolutionary analyses on modern and fossil species.

Herein, a portable analytical system was developed for on-site and rapid analysis of COD, organic substances in water were oxidized and transformed into gases, so that COD concentration was converted into a change of gas pressure signal, the pressure signal change was further detected by a gas pressure meter. Heating method and ultraviolet (UV) irradiation method were used as assisting technologies for oxidization of organic substances by acidic KMnO, a linear range of 2-150 mg l and a detectable limit of 2 mg l were obtained.
