There are many good reasons to improve the anatomy of a distal radius fracture, such as early return to function and avoidance of sigmoid notch incongruity or ulnocarpal impaction. It is often feared by patients, and portrayed by some authors of scientific articles and medicolegal reports, that a fracture of the distal radius has a propensity to cause symptomatic osteoarthritis. This article examines some of the current evidence and shares the authors' experience.

Dupuytren's disease continues to present many challenges for the surgeon. A variety of surgical approaches and their variations have been described in the literature, further complicated by the degree of skin shortage and/or the need for local flap procedures or a full thickness skin graft. In the face of all these decisions - none of which is supported by Level 1 evidence - it can be very difficult to plan the best incision(s).

This paper presents statistical shape models of the four fingers of the hand, with an emphasis on anatomic analysis of the proximal and distal interphalangeal joints. A multi-body statistical shape modelling pipeline was implemented on an exemplar training dataset of computed tomography (CT) scans of 10 right hands (5F:5M, 27-37 years, free from disease or injury) imaged at 0.3 mm resolution, segmented, meshed and aligned.
