The analgesic benefit of rectus sheath block in robotic gynecologic surgery: A retrospective study.

With the growing adoption of robotic techniques in gynecologic surgery, the advantages of minimally invasive procedures over traditional open surgery, such as reduced postoperative pain and quicker recovery, are clear. Yet, establishing an effective multimodal analgesic regimen remains a challenge. This retrospective study from a tertiary care center aimed to assess the analgesic efficacy of the rectus sheath block (RSB) on postoperative pain and opioid consumption after robotic gynecologic surgery.

Selective Brain Activations and Connectivities Related to the Storage and Recall of Human Object-Location, Reward-Location, and Word-Pair Episodic Memories.

Different cortical systems to the hippocampus were activated using fMRI during different types of episodic memory task. For object with scene location episodic memory, the activations were high in cortical systems involved in spatial processing, including the ventromedial visual and medial parahippocampal system. These activations for the medial parahippocampal system were higher in the right hemisphere.

Introduction: To evaluate the prognostic impact of substantial lymph vascular space invasion (LVSI) on the sentinel lymph node involvement and recurrence rate of patients with apparent uterine-confined endometrial cancer.

Materials And Methods: We enrolled consecutive patients with apparent confined endometrial cancer who underwent surgical staging with sentinel node mapping from 14 European reference centers. LVSI was analyzed semi-quantitatively, according to a 3-tiered scoring system classified as absent, focal, and substantial.
