Background: Multiple sclerosis can cause locomotor and cognitive impairments even at lower levels of disability, which can impact daily life. The cognitive-motor dual task is commonly used to assess everyday locomotion. Thus, this study aimed to examine the effect of cognitive-motor dual tasks on gait parameters among patients with multiple sclerosis in the early disease stages and to determine whether dual tasks could be used as a clinical test to detect locomotion impairments.

The need of carbon sources for the chemical industry, alternative to fossil sources, has pointed to CO as a possible feedstock. While CO electroreduction (CO R) allows production of interesting organic compounds, it suffers from large carbon losses, mainly due to carbonate formation. This is why, quite recently, tandem CO R, a two-step process, with first CO R to CO using a solid oxide electrolysis cell followed by CO electroreduction (COR), has been considered, since no carbon is lost as carbonate in either step.

The cleavage of C-O linkages in aryl ethers in biomass-derived lignin compounds without hydrogenation of the aromatic rings is a major challenge for the production of sustainable mono-aromatics. Conventional strategies over the heterogeneous metal catalysts require the addition of homogeneous base additives causing environmental problems. Herein, we propose a heterogeneous Ru/C catalyst modified by Br atoms for the selective direct cleavage of C-O bonds in diphenyl ether without hydrogenation of aromatic rings reaching the yield of benzene and phenol as high as 90.
