  • The study compares endoscopic treatment to open surgery for patients with perforated gastroduodenal ulcers, analyzing data from 445 patients between 2013 and 2021.
  • Out of those, 172 underwent endoscopic suturing, with 93.6% successfully receiving laparoscopic treatment, resulting in a low morbidity rate of 5.0% and a postoperative mortality rate of 1.3%.
  • The results indicate that laparoscopic procedures lead to significantly fewer complications and deaths compared to traditional open surgery, suggesting that endoscopic treatment should be the preferred choice when possible.
